Spoilers for 'Next' Episode 6 'File #6'

Fox's sci-fi thriller 'Next' just aired yet another installment in the ongoing chase for the AI. Paul LeBlanc (John Slattery ) steals time from the race, FBI and Shea Salazar (Fernanda Andrade) and escapes to an old headquarters where he attempts to streamline the information available to him and break down the location of the server. However, working by himself with a degenerative disease is not exactly a cakewalk. And so in between hallucinations and fear, Paul eventually manages to make progress in his endeavor, arriving at the conclusion that his brother Ted (Jason Butler Harner) is hardly an innocent man. And a quick promo aired by Fox at the end of Episode 6 is only proof of that.

Unfortunately for us, we have to wait for a good two weeks before we can even begin to know what is going to happen next on 'Next'. Episode 6 saw Paul finally figure out for himself that Ted has a role to play in this entire chaos. It happened shortly after Abby (Elizabeth Cappuccino) took matters in her own hands hoping to help her dying father. She calls Ted for help and instead, her uncle only makes use of her to erase data off the drive. She then wonders - why would he do that? Which eventually leads Paul to the conclusion.

In the promo shared by Fox, we see Paul team up again with Shea to ask Ted some very important questions. They are seen handcuffing Ted to a pole before questioning him about his involvement and intentions behind the AI. And if anything, this has fans only excited as together, Paul and Shea are going "break all rules". "Shea and Paul link back up and they handcuffing Ted to a pole? OH I'M READY FOR THAT!!! The rule book is out the window. It's about survival. NEXT needs to go. #NEXTonFOX," a fan tweeted.

This confrontation between Ted and Paul is a long time coming and it is a classic case of the younger sibling living in the so-called shadow of his older brother. The past might be dragged up so be prepared. Why did Ted use the AI? Why does he always compete with Paul? These are more answers on the upcoming episode of 'Next', which will air on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at 9-10 pm ET/PT on FOX.
