'New Amsterdam' fans, your favorite NBC medical drama is not airing this week but there's no need to panic. The show has obviously not been canceled and neither has it gone on a break. The programming shift is was due to President Donald Trump's State of the Union address.

The show will return to its usual time next week and NBC viewers can watch it on the network.

Last week, the show took us on a very different route with the Helen Sharpe and Max Goodwin angle and fans were furious about the show trying to inject a love triangle into the plotline. We all know the two are perfect for each other and fans want them to be the endgame but at this point in the season, it doesn't look like that will happen.

With Helen focusing on rebuilding her career after being stripped of her position as head of oncology and Max struggling to take care of Luna as a single dad, romance is really the last thing on their minds. The episode titled '14 Years, 2 Months, 8 Days' also gave us an intimate look at Vijay Kapoor's time at the hospital.

When the show returns we will see another big change at the hospital that will push the already committed docs to stop at nothing to save their patients. There's also the arc about Reynolds, who wants to move to San Francisco with his wife but is unable to tell Max about it. Crossroads? We think so.

It wasn't just 'New Amsterdam' that was cut out this week, it was also the drama 'This Is Us'. Both shows will return to their normal time slots next week.

You can watch the next episode of 'New Amsterdam on Tuesday, February 11, at 10/9c on NBC.
