Jesse Spencer's departure hit us hard. Having been a part of 'Chicago Fire' since the pilot episode, the Australian actor was more or less synonymous with the show, journeying as Matthew Casey for almost a decade before exiting the show. Last seen in Episode 5 of 'Chicago Fire' Season 10 which ended with him moving to Oregon owing to personal commitments, the former series regular could be returning to the show real soon!

'Chicago Fire' Season 10 has had some interesting developments after Spencer's exit such as Jason Pelham's suspension and reinstation, Stella Kidd's promotion to Lieutenant, Violet and Hawkins getting into a relationship, but none seem to have the fans talking as much as the upcoming wedding of Stella Kidd and Kelly Severide. With the fictional couple planning it and viewers eagerly waiting for it, 'Chicago Fire' creator and executive producer Derek Haas recently confirmed "we are on scope for a wedding episode this season."

Speaking to Variety about 'FBI: International' and 'Chicago Fire,' Haas told that he would write the wedding down "Maybe not in ink, but as close to ink as you get." Obviously with a wedding comes guests and the "Stellaride" wedding could mark the return of Matthew Casey. Haas said that he "would be mortified" if the "wedding didn't include Casey," adding that he really enjoys Casey's character still being a part of the show by being in a long-distance relationship with Brett.

Haas felt that it would be tantamount to "cheating" if the makers had pulled the plug on the Casey-Brett relationship that was built over "so many seasons" just because of production demands. Given the milieu we're in, Haas "thought it was realistic that people can keep a relationship going," closing on a personal note that the 'Chicago Fire' writing room "love Casey so much that we want to keep his presence."

What do you think of Matthew Casey's return? Let us know!
