Nas and his frequent collaborator Hit-Boy are completely on a roll for the last one and a half year. After dropping ‘King’s Disease’ and ‘King’s Disease II’ in 2020 and 2021 respectively, the duo now got the fans hooked to their new surprise album called ‘Magic’. Nas took to his official Instagram account to announce a surprise album on Thursday, December 23 quickly breaking the Internet.
 
The hip-hop legend’s brand new album is called ‘Magic’ where he again decided to team up with prolific music producer Hit-Boy. The Grammy-winning rap star also tapped A$AP Rocky and veteran music producer DJ Premier on the album. Nas’ latest is a follow-up to his 2021 critically acclaimed project called ‘King’s Disease II’ that featured appearances from hip-hop legends such as Eminem, EPMD, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, YG, Lauryn Hill, Charlie Wilson, and Blxst.

Nas drops new album hours after announcing surprise project

Nas while surprising his fans shared the cover art of his new album on Instagram and captioned the post as “MAGIC is in the air. Midnight et brand new music to vibe to. @hitboy @massappealrecs.”  ‘Magic’ proves to be Nas’ 15th studio album and is stacked with nine singles. It serves as the third album executively produced by Hit-Boy.  The latest project has been released via Mass Appeal records.
 
Many on social media compared Nas’ new album to his award-winning debut album ‘Ilmatic’. On the intro song of the album called ‘Speechless’, Nas raps, “Heaven on Earth, this s**t is magic with no fairy dust/ Home of thе gully, gangsta, the gruesome, and thе scary stuff/ I told my brother Jung, "F**k 'em, they gon' through Hell with us/ They don't have the history in the streets that compare with us.” You can listen to the full album here.

Hip-hop fans could not can their excitement as they took to Twitter to share their opinion on Nas’ new full-length effort. “This @Nas album different, this s**t raw af… salute @Hit_Boy …..  THIS IS HOW I WANNA HEAR NAS!!!!”, said one user as another stated, “@Hit_Boy and @Nas came with nothing but heat #Magic “Wu For The Children”. One user added, “Nas hitting a stride this late in his career is amazing. The fact that we could probably put his 2020s output against his 90s output says something. LEGEND.”
