After Ciara and Nicole battled it out on the legendary tunes in order to win the grand prize of $100,000 on Fox’s reboot of the musical reality show ‘Name That Tune,’  it was time for new contestants to try their luck for the same.

The contestants on the show battle it out in an assortment of challenging musical games for cash and prizes. Each episode consists of two standalone half-hour contests, each pitting two players against each other as they race against the clock to test their knowledge of songs, performed by the live band. In the second-half of the reality show hosted by Jane Krakowski in the company of bandleader Randy Jackson, we saw Melisa and Devin locking horns with their sharp guessing skills.

‘Spin Me Round’

The very first round in second-half of ‘Name That Tune’ was called ‘Spin Me Round’ which included a colorful moving board with different music genres written all over it.  Devin, who shared his emotional love story on the show, seemed very confident from the very first question while Melisa, who works at a mall, seemed a bit dodgy when it came to guessing the songs. Devin easily won the first round and moved ahead with more money as compared to Melissa. But yes, Melissa did manage to win a bonus prize in the form of a hoverboard.

‘Bid-A-Note’

In this round, one has to guess a song in a maximum of 10 notes. Two contestants can bid the lowest and if they fail to guess the track. The opponent then gets to guess the track in 10 notes as they get the advantage of the option they have called “steal.” In the second round, Devin maintained his dominance and easily pocketed a total of $53,000. We loved the nail-biting drama we got to see between the two as Melissa tried her best to guess the song in the least notes possible but clearly failed in doing so. Devin, on the other hand, made sure he wins the round which he clearly did while also impressing the host and the audience at the same time. Melisa, unfortunately, had to exit the show as Devin moved to the final round.

Golden Medley

Golden Medley is the last round of ‘Name That Tune’ where the winner from ‘Bid-A-Note’ gets to guess seven songs on the tune played but the twist is one has to do all in 30 seconds. They can also pass and move to the next one and come back again if the time allows. When asked what he will do if he wins $100,000, Devin said he wants to go on a honeymoon with his lovely wife and also wants to buy her a new wheelchair as the old one barely worked.

While continuing the game, the 29-year-old started off on a shaky note as he passed the first two tracks. He then correctly answered the third and fourth tune with the song ‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World’ and ‘Say Something’ respectively. Devin did not hesitate at all on the fifth tune as he quickly answered it correctly with Lady Gaga’s hit single ‘Paparazzi.’ However, he passed the sixth and the seventh track with only 6 seconds left on the clock. Going back to his previous passes, he guessed one correct and one wrong. The show ended with Devin winning $93,000 at the end which made him the second highest-winner on the show, as of now. Chip Bird, who came in the very first episode, won $136,000 which is the highest till now.
