Contains spoilers for 'Moon Knight' Episode 6

'Moon Knight' took its time in introducing Marc Spector's (Oscar Isaac) most violent avatar, but when it did, it was crisp and deadly. The finale of the Disney+ series waited until the mid-credits scene to introduce the character who fans were itching to see through episodes 3 and 5.

For those unaware, the tease regarding Spector's third identity comes at the end of an action scene in Moon Knight Episode 3. While he spends a major part of the chapter chasing down some of Arthur Harrow's (Ethan Hawke's) followers. Steven disrupts the fighting by momentarily taking control. After catching back up to Harrow's followers, Steven's continued intervening results in Marc getting whacked unconscious. However, when he wakes up, he finds himself covered in blood and when he questions Steven about what he's done, the latter denies the act.

'Moon Knight' Episode 6 Review: Oscar Isaac's standalone series ends on fitting note

'Moon Knight' mid-credits scene explained

The scene opens with Arthur Harrow wheeled out of a hospital by a mysterious figure whose face is not revealed. He is escorted to a white Limo and shoved inside only to confront Khonshu. Harrow laughs thinking that the Moon-god is ineffective without an avatar that was neither Spector nor his wife Layla (May Calamawy), to which Khonshu replies that Spector's identity crisis and disorder stemmed way more dangerous and deeper than he hoped it was, and introduces him to his new friend 'Jake Lockley' (played by Isaac)

Lockley mutters "today is your day to lose" in Spanish and shoots Harrow twice, killing him and the Limo drives away with SPEKTR written on the number plate. This brings closure to the six-episode series as it sees the death of the villain and the emergence of a new avatar who will continue Khonshu's mission of protecting the world from evil despite the use of ridiculously violent methods. The second glimpse of Jake was provided when he and Layla, who takes on Tawaret's avatar, struggle to fight Ammit and Harrow midway into Episode 6. Spector blacks out only to wake up as see Harrow left for dead.

Safe to say, Jake was always present as one of Spector's identities. The rage had to be channeled and does so in the form of a new avatar. Fans shared their two cents on the character as well. "Jake Lockley is in the house! #MoonKnight," one of the fans wrote. "#Moonknight spoiler for eps 6 //// . . . . . . . LAYLA AS TAWARETS AVATAR IS JUST BEYOND AWESOME AND WE FINALLY GET TO SEE JAKE LOCKLEY YALL AAAAAHHHHHH,"  another seconded. "Jake lockley is that way in the comics man the show creators didn’t do that he’s just the rougher and less remorseful personality," a fan opined.
