Spoilers for  'Money Heist' Season 5 Vol 1

Season 5 of ‘Money Heist’ is finally streaming on Netflix and fans can’t stop raving about how the Spanish phenomenon has hit it out of the park once again with a compelling Part One of the gang’s final journey.

Just like Season 4, the latest edition also featured a death that might change everything for the group. In the previous season, it was Nairobi (Alba Flores) and in this season, it is Tokyo’s death that has taken everyone by surprise. In the final scene of Season 5 Part 1, Tokyo (Ursula Corbero) was killed by the military personnel who went inside the bank. However, she did manage to take out all the pins of the grenades stuck on her Kevlar vest and kill Gandia as well.

But, there are some people who believe that the character’s narration at the end of Episode 1 of Season 5 told viewers how it’s going to end. According to the Reddit user u/esm3raid, Tokyo’s words at the end of the first episode of Season 5 revealed what’s going to happen to most characters.

During the end moments of Episode 1, when it is found that Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri) has taken Professor as a hostage and he might be dead at any moment, Tokyo narrates, “In that moment, it felt as we were hitting a wall at 150km/hr. The End of the Road. We have all experienced that at some point in our lives. One day your brother is diagnosed with a terminal illness (Berlin). One day, you realize that you’ll never be able to see your child again (Denver and Stockholm). That you won’t see your friends again. You’ll never hug your father again (Manila). Your family won’t ever see each other again (Professor and Lisbon). Everything we experienced in the past was coming to a close. This was the end of our journey together.”

The Reddit user claimed that the aforementioned words have given us an idea of how things will pan out in the upcoming episodes. The user noted that neither Stockholm nor Denver will survive. And they won’t be able to see their son again. Meanwhile, Professor and Lisbon won’t be able to get back together, meaning one of them will surely die. In the end, the user opined that Tokyo’s words “ending of their journey” meant a tragic end for every character.

A still from 'Money Heist' Season 5 Part 1 (Netflix)

It is quite possible that the makers could go for such an ending. However, I believe some members will stay alive to make it look like a bittersweet ending. We have already seen Nairobi and Tokyo getting brutally killed, so it won’t come in as a surprise if other major characters also lose their lives during the war.

‘Money Heist’ Season 5 Part 2 will be streaming exclusively on Netflix on December 3, 2021.
