‘Money Heist’ Season 5 Episode 5 Ending Explained: Is Tokyo Dead?

So, the trio is taking heavy fire from the army personnel, but they are also fighting back. They decided to use the heavy metal burner to stop the bullets. Tokyo realizes that she needs to do something and starts playing mind games with Gandia. She starts talking about his family and how coward he is in real life. The other military personnel tells him to calm down but he doesn’t and throws a grenade at the trio. Tokyo heroically takes the grenade in her hand and throws that immediately back at them, killing almost two army personnel. One of the members of the army team is not happy with what Gandia did and engages in a fight with him. The leader of the team stops her from killing Gandia and threatens Gandia to follow orders or he’ll kill him by putting a bullet in his head.

On the other hand, the others are still waiting to open the heavy metal door. Elsewhere, the military digs up a plan to enter from another side of the kitchen by destroying the wall with explosives. Meanwhile, another team of the military is in on the other building and has snipers ready. As soon as Tokyo hits two of the men inside the building, the major gives the sniper team the order to fire. Three or four bullets hit Tokyo and she was down.

They are stuck and Tokyo is bleeding heavily. Stockholm hears that and contacts Denver that there is an escape route from the kitchen that will take them to the hall. But, it is too dangerous and they would have to slide from the ropes to reach down. Manila and Denver go first and they put the cushion on the ground so that if Tokyo comes, she would not be hurt.

Meanwhile, Rio has drilled the kitchen floor to meet Tokyo but doesn’t let him come up and face the enemies alone. The gunfire was too much to handle as bullets pierce her body one by one, striking her down to the ground. Gandia comes to her and wanted to shoot her for the final time. But, Tokyo had already taken out the pins of all the grenades in her vest, killing her and Gandia on the spot as bombs went off.

The episode ended with everyone getting emotional that they have lost one of the key members of their group. The professor is taken aback by what just happened is shaking uncontrollably while Rio and Denver are crying hopelessly.

Season 4 shocked us with Nairobi’s death and Season 5 has given us an ultimate shock with the death of Tokyo. Now, we would have to wait 3 more months to see how the group takes revenge.

‘Money Heist’ Season 5 will be returning for Part 2 on December 3 on Netflix.
