'Modern Family' season 11: Manny's adorable attempts to woo his ex-girlfriend back has fans rooting for him
They are back! Small screen’s favorite funny family ‘Modern Family’ season 11 premiered on September 25, and we can’t get enough of the hilarious antics of the Pritchett- Dunphy families. Manny Delgado (Rico Rodriguez) experienced his big heartbreak last season. This season our loverboy decides to take matters into his own hands and woo her back.
What better way to woo a girl than to get her to do a voice-over for advertising a dog-bed which you’re directing for your stepfather! Manny enlists his muse Sherry Shaker to do the voice-over for the dog-bed commercial he is directing for his stepfather Jay Pritchett (Ed O’Neill).
When Sherry first walks into the studio, Manny was fawning all over her and couldn’t stop praising her much to his Colombian mother Gloria Pritchett’s (Sofia Vergara) dismay. Gloria decides to step in and help Manny win over Sherry. She gives some practical dating advice to Manny about how to woo girls. She asks Manny to be assertive and more critical of Sherry’s performance. Manny heeds her advice and starts critiquing Sherry’s performance. Gloria’s advice works as Sherry starts finding Manny’s assertiveness attractive. Gloria then asks her son to go to Sherry and compliment her, and slowly “reel her in”. When Manny goes to compliment her, she can’t stop praising Manny’s directorial genius and even asks Manny out on a date. But our adorable lover-boy is so taken by Sherry’s compliments of his direction that he completely ignores her date request.
He goes back and does another 62 takes to get the perfect shot, and of course, the date never happened as Manny never “reeled her in”. Manny’s adorable awkwardness and efforts won fans over completely as they were rooting for him. Fans were extremely supportive of Manny despite him not getting the girl. A fan tweeted, “Hahaha. Poor Manny. 62 takes and he did not win back Sherri. #ModernFamily”. Another fan wrote, “Damn, Manny. You didn't reel her in at all . #ModernFamily”
Looking at the way things are panning out for Manny, we have no doubts that he will find a perfect girl for himself, and with his mother Gloria at the helm, he shouldn’t have any troubles.
