ABC’s mockumentary styled sitcom ‘Modern Family’ is currently in its eleventh and final season. With only a couple of episodes due until its conclusion, fans of the award-winning show are clutching at straws wondering about the fate of their favorite characters.

Episode 9 ‘The Last Christmas’ which aired prior to the series’ mid-season break not only got us emotional but also teased us with numerous possibilities. Episode 10, which is yet to be titled, is prepping for its premiere on January 8 and here’s everything we can expect to witness in the forthcoming episode.

We wouldn’t be wrong to say Season 11 of ‘Modern Family’ has been one of the most dramatic seasons so far, for its own reasons. Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and Phil’s (Ty Burrell) real estate stint reflected their dynamics as family members and business partners, becoming one of the highlights of the current season.

However, in the previous episode, Gloria declared that she wants to work independently. Although Phil accepted her decision gracefully, we can look forward to a lot of drama unfold between the two professionals, competing in the same industry.

Similarly, Claire (Julie Bowen) also told Jay (Ed O’Neill) she isn’t interested in heading his dog bed business. The father-daughter duo was always seen entangled in a complicated relationship, both on personal and professional fronts. It remains to be seen if Claire’s decision is going to finally help mend her relationship with her father or if it will drive them further apart.

As far as Cam (Eric Streetstone) and Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) are concerned, fans are rather worried about their present than the future. From poor parenting to endless fights over pettiest of issues, their marriage seems to be in a state of turmoil. Now that Cam has accepted a job in Missouri like he always wanted, we are waiting to see if Mitch will be able to adapt to the new life, although he told in the previous episode he’s more than happy to accompany him to the farms.

We can expect a couple of interesting twists in the upcoming episodes, given that the children of Pritchett and Dunphy households have expressed their interest in leading independent lives in far off cities and countries. Therefore, it sure is going to be an interesting ride to embark on as Manny, Haley, Alex, and Luke start to lead a life on their terms, not having their parents clean up their mess anymore.

‘Modern Family’ will return on January 8 with episode 10.
