All the good things need to come to an end and so it will for ABC’s sitcom ‘Modern Family’, which for over a decade, has been giving us a perfect blend of multicultural families and their never-ending drama. As the mockumentary-style series is nearing its conclusion, it seems to have upset its fans once again.

Firstly, episode 10 of ‘Modern Family’ Season 11 will not be telecast in the current week’s slot, as it has taken a break from its usual schedule. The American comedy-drama will be returning next year with a new episode on January 8. As if this news wasn’t enough to bring it fans down, ‘Modern Family’ Season 11 has made its viewers unhappy by showcasing one of our beloved couples Cam and Mitch’s inadequacy in parenting, creating quite the storm on social media.

Those of you who follow the show would have observed Lily’s minimal appearance before the camera throughout the current season. And, when she made a rare show in the last episode ‘The Last Christmas’, her parents were so deeply entangled in their own issues that they didn’t bother paying heed to Lily.

“How many times is #ModernFamily going to joke that Cam and Mitch don't pay any attention to Lily?”, a fan expressed. And the rest on watching this took to twitter to cringe about their roles as parents.  Another added, "How many parent-teacher conferences did Mitch and Cam skip to have never realized Lily was smart enough to skip a grade?”

The gay couple’s ignorance wouldn’t have bothered their daughter as much as it has irked the viewers because Lily has always been on her own, expecting the least from her parents who claim to have tremendous experience of dealing with life, love, and whatnot.

Speaking of it, another fan tweeted, “Mitch and Cam not paying enough attention to Lily's life and activities would be a better joke if she had more interaction with any other adult in her family. She doesn't even interact with Gloria that much anymore and Gloria was her designated mother figure.”
