Miss USA 2024: Is there a dress code for the evening gowns?
Evening gowns for the Miss USA pageant don’t have a strict dress code, but there are guidelines to follow. Miss USA 2023, Savannah Gankiewicz, who took over the title from Noelia Voigt in May 2024, highlighted that contestants have the flexibility to choose their gowns within these guidelines. "As long as you feel beautiful, confident, and graceful and can portray that in a gown, it’s free will," Savannah told People magazine.
However, Savannah noted that there is a restriction on the number of gowns allowed. While participants were previously limited to one gown, this year the Miss USA pageant has updated the rules to permit both a preliminary gown and a final gown.
Who won Miss USA 2024?
Mississippi's Addie Carver won Miss Teen USA, and just three days later, another queen was crowned during the 2024 Miss USA Pageant, broadcast live on The CW. The awards ceremony took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and was hosted by Garcelle Beauvais, Keltie Knight, Morgan Romano, and Patrick Starrr.
Fifty-one women competed in a two-hour event, with only a few finalists anxiously awaiting the announcement of the winner. After the swimwear and evening gown portions, the final five contestants were ranked as follows: Macy Hudson from Ohio in fifth place, Christell Foote from Tennessee in fourth place, Danika Christopherson from Oklahoma in third place, and Connor Perry from Kentucky in second place.
Michigan's Alma Cooper has been crowned Miss USA 2024 and will represent the United States in the upcoming Miss Universe Pageant.
