Before 'Million Dollar Listing New York' happened to Ryan Serhant, he had already experienced life in front of the camera. In between 2007-08, he appeared as Evan Walsh in 19 episodes of 'As the World Turns'. While the gig brought him adulation and earnings, he decided to take up a full-time real estate job that further put him in the spotlight. In fact, as recently as on April 29, the 'Million Dollar Listing' star demanded the federal lawsuit accusing him of fraud be dismissed. According to court documents obtained by Radar, the reality star is once again asking the court to dismiss him as a defendant in the case brought by his former client, Aaron Coppelson. More on that in a bit.

Over the years, Serhant has dabbled in more than what a regular person can handle and excelled at each of those career paths. His success was inevitable and so is the impressive net worth.

What is Ryan Serhant's net worth?

According to a Celebrity Net Worth report, Ryan's net worth is at $30 million. In 2018, he purchased a 7,670-square-foot Brooklyn townhouse that was listed at $7.6 million. He was touring to offer it to a potential client but ended up buying it for himself. "The house is perfect, we can move in as-is. But I’m gonna renovate it," he had said. As of 2021, the house is still under renovation and there are quite a few before-after pictures to prove it.

Unlike most, Ryan had a cushy childhood. However, his father didn't want him to get too comfortable and insisted on learning the importance of hard work. He paid $1.50 an hour to Ryan to collect and sell firewood to the neighbors.

In his first year, Ryan earned $9000

The life lessons worked for Ryan and how. In 2008, he entered the real estate industry and during the first year earned $9000. However, soon the business picked up and he sold an $8.5 million property. Four years later, he launched the Serhant Team, a brokerage firm that had 60 employees working out of New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, New Jersey, and the Hamptons.

According to the company's official website, the Serhant Team had done $4 billion in sales and had sold more than 80 projects across major cities. In 2020, he opened another firm - SERHANT - whose biggest sales include a $33 million Miami penthouse and a $69 million home on NYC's Madison Avenue.

This is not his only way of earning money. Like we mentioned earlier, Ryan is also an actor. Some of his acting credits include 'Withdrawal', 'While We're Young', 'The Mysteries of Laura', and 'Inside Amy Schumer'. Ryan has also appeared on 'Today' and 'Watch What Happens: Live' as a guest and has been a part of 'Ca$h Cab,' 'On the Money,' and 'Larry King Now.'

The $1million lawsuit

Ryan's client, Aaron Coppleson sued him for $1 million in damages after he was unable to sell off a property for $5 million, as promised. Coopelson accused Serhant of illegal business practices. He claimed he pushed him hard into buying a New York property without telling him. "All of the above misrepresentations, omissions, and/or conduct involved material facts between the parties and were unfair, illegal, false, deceptive and/or misleading," Radar Online quoted excerpts from Aaron's lawsuit. In 2015, Ryan had convinced Aaron that the Manhattan property in question was a "gold mine" and that the latter would be able to sell it off at a good price. Ryan, however, is denying the claims and wants the fraud charges dropped.

The Times Square proposal and IVF journey

In what can be dubbed as an "epic" proposal, Ryan popped the big question to lawyer Emilia Bechrakis after he shut down Times Square for an hour. Between then and now, the couple got married and welcomed daughter, Zena, who is nothing short of a miracle.

In an elaborate Instagram post, Emilia wrote how their journey to parenthood was laden with troubles but by the end of it all, they felt blessed and couldn't be happier. "Our own road leading up to IVF, was the toughest. I lost that light and bubbly disposition during that time. Looking back, I wouldn’t change any of it," she wrote and added: "There were lows, but there were enlightening highs. When Ryan and I got to see one another at our strongest and even our best. We bonded more than ever before. Became a family before a baby and fell in love all over again."

Catch more of Ryan in 'Million Dollar Listing New York' when it premieres on May 6 on Bravo at 8/7c.
