'Million Dollar Beach House' Episode 5: 'Rattled' JB begins to second guess working for Jimmy
JB Andreassi did his best when showing a client the luxurious Edge Of Wood mansion in Water Mill, that had a listing price of $6,250,000. He was in top form and that even his mentor Jimmy Gugliano could not deny. It had been a tough time as the agents had almost lost the Breskins as their clients after their staging disaster, but they managed to remove the exotic furniture and replace it with new pieces for the potential buyer.
The mansion is nothing short of extravagant and JB showed that with its master bedrooms, sauna and home theatre, it would be a dream home for anyone. There is a pool, tennis and basketball court. JB talked price with Neil, the client, and was sure that Jimmy would be impressed and see that he had what it takes to be a good broker. "He's thinking I need to keep this guy on my team and keep him happy," JB said confidently.
Later, JB had a rather unsettling conversation with Jimmy. He thanked him for all the opportunities he had with clients over the summer and hoped that he was ready to get out of Jimmy's shadow. "I'm just thinking for the future now. Where do you see me going?" Jimmy answered, "I think you've done a really good job, but I think that as a whole, you still need to grow. There are still things I can help you with. I want you to be the next rainmaker, and bring more listings. Until you get established, you're always going to need my help."
JB felt rather rattled and started second-guessed working with Jimmy and said that maybe it was time that he started working alone. Later, he confided in his close friend Michael Fulfree, who tried to reassure him that Jimmy is the best mentor for him and asked him not to get complacent and to "become a part of someone's brand". Michael reminded him that he started off the same wa, and he was sure that JB would begin to soar as well. Michael gave him full support and encouragement.
At the end of the episode, JB said, "It's nice working with Jimmy, and I've been spinning my wheels, I do know it's a risk to go out on my own. I really don't know what to do."
JB still seems conflicted.
