Rolling Stones cancel show after Mick Jagger contracts Covid, 'but COVID caught Keith Richards' says Internet
Mick Jagger, 77, The Rolling Stone's frontman, announced on Twitter on June 13 that he has tested positive for COVID-19, and the band's concert which was scheduled for Monday, June 13 at Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam has been canceled. "I'm so sorry that we've had to postpone the Amsterdam show with such short notice tonight. I have unfortunately just tested positive for COVID," he wrote in a Twitter post. "We aim to reschedule the date ASAP and get back as soon as we can. Thank you all for your patience and understanding. Mick."
A message from the band was also shared on Twitter announcing the cancellation of the concert. “The Rolling Stones are deeply sorry for tonight’s postponement, but the safety of the audience, fellow musicians, and the touring crew has to take priority. “The show will be rescheduled for a later date. Tickets for tonight’s show will be honoured for the rescheduled date. Standby for details.” Jagger, 78, began to develop symptoms as he arrived at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on June 13.

Last year, during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jagger slammed the anti-vaxxers and said those who won't take coronavirus vaccines are "irrational." Jagger also released his energetic duet with Foo Fighters rocker Dave Grohl, poking fun at anti-vaxxers and COVID conspiracy theorists. He said: "It just seems to be that even people you know that are relatively sensible about a lot of things have one thing that they just don’t kind of get. I have several friends and relations and they go off on these things that just doesn’t… They’re just irrational."
Users on social media trolled Jagger's announcement of his contracting COVID-19 and not Keith Richards despite being in the same band. One user wrote, "Covid is a pussy. It knew if it infected Keith Richards it would totally kill the strain for all time."

Last week, the band, which consists of Jagger, Richards, and Ronnie Wood, played a show in Liverpool, England, and shared photos from the fun night — including their setlist. Before then, the band played in Munich, Germany, and the tour was set to wrap in Stockholm, Sweden on July 31.
After their show in Liverpool, Jagger's girlfriend Melanie Hamrick posted an adorable video on her Instagram Story of their son Deveraux, 5, dancing backstage during the concert. Deveraux rocked out while his dad sang one of his band's hit songs, 'You Can't Always Get What You Want.' Jagger's son was in full support of his dad at the concert, wearing a Rolling Stones t-shirt as he jumped around and whipped his long hair to the music.
In March, the band's guitarist Richards, 78, told CBS Sunday Morning that after 55 years, he put down his cigarettes two years ago with the help of nicotine patches.
"It's funny, I don't think about it much anymore… Sometimes, you know, a bell rings and something inside says, 'Hey pal, enough.' I just put the hammer on it," he said. "Luckily, I don't miss it, and that makes me feel good. Until I started rehearsing for the tour last August, and then I realized that I had 10 times more wind."
