Rolling Stones' 200 greatest hip-hop albums list trolled after CARDI B makes top 20 of ALL TIME
Rolling Stones announced their ranking of the '200 greatest hip-hop albums' and some people are not taking it too kindly. The magazine confirmed and clarified that the list is purely made of English hip-hop records and that it would cover 'every important moment' in hip-hop's evolution. While explaining the formation of the list, they made clear that they went with lesser-known artists and their albums instead of favoring recurring artists with legendary catalogs such as Outcast, and A Tribe Called Conquest.
"One of the incredible things about hip-hop is that it evolves and expands faster than any other genre in music history," said Rolling Stones while announcing the list. They explained that the list consists of artists flourishing in the 80s or 90s such as Rakim, Erc B., etc., and even the superstars Jay-Z, Kanye West, and more. The list also consists of more recent moments like blog-rap, emo-rap, and drill, covering lands from New York, L.A., Houston, Chicago, and more.

The list kicks off with Travis Scott's 'Astroworld' which was released in 2018. The description explains that it's not possible for anyone to listen to the album without remembering the horrific incident. Regardless, the album hits the spot with Travis using the full hip-hop spectrum. Every album is thoroughly dissected and explained. However, some people have some serious issues with the list as they claim it doesn't justify real hip hop. Check it out!

Internet reacts to Rolling Stones' hip-hop list
Cardi B is a new age phenomenon but some people had a problem when she was ranked higher than more decorated artists such as Eminem and Lil Wayne. One user said, "Terrible list. Cardi b shouldn’t even be on the list let alone top 15 let alone again above the Marshall Mathers Lp and the Carter 2. Trash list." Another angry Twitter user said, "Some shocks here. How is that Cardi B album better than Illmatic, Donuts, Late Registration, etc lol. I like the top 10."

One user, who's clearly pissed off with the list tweeted, "I would bet a lot of money non music head did this list or people who don’t listen to music. The disrespect on this list shows just that. Was anyone black involved? Anyone who’s not a bot? Or paid to make up bullsh*t ass list? Are y’all hiring? Y’all need to."

One user just wants this list to begone and says, "Delete this tweet, destroy the list and we'll forget it ever happened." Another user defended the classics and said, "@RollingStone stop this. If an album was great in 1992 .. it doesn’t get LESS great because of an Album that dropped in 2012." The debate is ON. Some people dig the list because of the new-age artists making their way up, and some are fixated on their beloved classics.
