'We Nailed It': Michelle Rodriguez reveals shocking fact about 'Fast X' fight scenes with Charlize Theron
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 'Fast & Furious series' has been running for a long time. With nine movies down, the tenth edition is soon to hit theaters. 'Fast X' released the official trailer showing Jason Momoa as the antagonist. The film returns with the old cast, with Brie Larson as the new addition. 'Fast X' will hit cinemas on May 19 and will be the second-last film in the long-running action series. Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have defeated every adversary in their way over numerous missions and against impossible odds. In the new movie, they will face a new and deadlier foe.
While 'Fast X' went through a directional change in the middle of production, the movie made it to post-production quite successfully. Now it has a release date. Justin Lin, who helmed the movie series five times, left the tenth edition due to a conflict. Michelle Rodriguez, the cast of 'Fast & Furious' movies, revealed a scene she shot with Charlize Theron with no director.

'We don’t need a director'
Michelle Rodriguez, who plays a pivotal part in the 'Fast & Furious' series, has been in it from the beginning. In her part in 'Fast X,' she has a brutal fight scene with Charlize Theron. When the movie's director abruptly changed and his replacement hadn't arrived, the actress took hings into her hand. She revealed to Variety about a fight scene she shot with Theron with no director. She said, "Can I just tell you — no pun intended, but Charlize is a monster. We shot our [‘Fast X’] fight sequence with no director. Bro, like, hands down, drop mic, we nailed it. We were there, we don’t need [a director], let’s do this.”
Neither of the actresses is unfamiliar with action sequences as they have worked on these kinds of projects multiple times before. However, they did have the support of a second unit director to oversee their fight scene.
Louis Leterrier took over the mantel of 'Fast X'
With Justin Lin departed from 'Fast X' just days into filming because of creative differences, 'Now You See Me' director Louis Leterrier came in as his replacement. He took over the mantel and ended up re-writing the whole screenplay. Luck for Rodriguez and Theron, their screen made it into the final cut, and now the fans can enjoy a knockdown between the two action legend.
'Fast X' is set to open in theaters on May 19.
