Don is currently flouting all the family rules right now. He has all the reasons to because Cupid has struck him really hard. He is crazy in love with Nancy and can't stop thinking about her.

Unfortunately, he is too shy to admit this to his family because he thinks they will not approve of her. Moreover, he is such a strong man; he may have felt embarrassed to embrace love all over again.

He's a good father who is concerned about what his family thinks about him, so he wants to portray himself to be serving their best interests. He feels that the kids may not approve of his newfound love because they may feel like he is cheating on their late mother.

Although it has only been three years since her passing, finding a new partner was never in his immediate list. Maybe that's why Don portrays himself as a tough guy who has no room for love!

Luckily for him, his kids have a heart of gold as they always want to see their father living happily. So, the course of life that he chooses would inadvertently be accepted by them, even if it involves finding love at 60!

Matt, meanwhile, helped in enriching the spark between Nancy and Don. Although he has mentioned her name a few times here and there, Don thinks that the family will never know about his feelings.

Finally, when they all go to the mall to buy her a Christmas present, the kids obviously know what he's doing and why he's being so thoughtful about getting her a present.

Finally, he buys her a gift and while heading out of the mall, he confronts her about his feelings for Nancy to his children. We see him acting all cute and lovey-dovey at this time which makes his daughters grow even more fond of him because they have never seen the mushy side of such a strong-headed man.

As he confronts them about his feelings, the patriarch we have been seeing since three episodes has changed into a man of the family.

Towards the end, we see Patsy and Todd at the hospital, looking very nervous. We know that they have been trying to conceive for a long time. With negative results each time, they have a bleak ray of hope.

So, a visit to the hospital could indicate that the couple may be expecting a little one's arrival soon?  Catch the premiere of 'Merry Happy Whatever' on November 28 only on Netflix.
