Concept

Initially, it was reported that MC Mong would be making his comeback last December, but it has been postponed until next month. It has been over a year and four months since he released his latest album, 'Channel'. The new LP will mark his 9th studio album in total. Considering the timeline of album releases over the past year, his upcoming album is actually arriving sooner than anticipated.

The rapper hasn't dropped any teasers or previews for his new album and news of it is currently scarce, but if MC Mong's new music is anything like his latest works, fans can expect fierce tunes. 'Channel' also featured a number of guest artists on its tracks, so the rapper is presumably keeping future potential collaborators under wraps. 'Channel' featured popular South Korean acts such as Park Bom, Moon, Suran, Coogie, and more.

Who is MC Mong?

For those unacquainted with the artist, MC Mong is a South Korean rapper, record producer, and radio personality. His impressive resume also extends to acting in films and making television appearances. As one of the most commercially successful hip-hop artists in South Korea, MC Mong is also commonly known for his upbeat music and comic disposition. Many longtime fans will know that his break came not from rapping but from acting, when he featured in the sitcom 'Nonstop 4' in 2003, when he was noted for his acting abilities on the show.

Some of the most popular TV shows that have featured MC Mong include 'Sad Love Story', '2 Days & 1 Night', 'Unpretty Rapstar' and more.

He has had his fair share of backlash due to controversies but has bounced back with solid new music. This can be seen in 2014 when his comeback album, 'Miss Me Or Diss Me', topped music charts upon its release.
