'Celebrating Marvel's Stan Lee': Fans left teary-eyed by tribute to 'a real hero who influenced change in many lives for the better'

Emotional fans flooded social media with reactions after ABC special with many saying they cannot imagine a world without the comic book legend

Marvel's Stan Lee died on November 12, 2018, leaving behind a sea of devastated fans. Yet, they firmly maintain, that he lives on through his creations of superheroes like Iron Man, Spider-Man, Hulk, Fantastic Four and more. He ushered in the golden era of geekiness, and made it look cool. Later, these creations were brought to the screens. ABC and Marvel Entertainment came together to celebrate the man who made so many childhoods memorable with his comics.

The tribute 'Celebrating Marvel's Stan Lee' featured those who had worked with him, the actors from the MCU including Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo and Evangeline Lilly. 



 

Emotional fans flooded social media with reactions. One fan tweeted, "Words literally cannot explain how much Stan Lee means to me. He literally gave life a bigger meaning to me. Helped me realize I’m not alone in the world and that me and other kids have a voice too. I just cannot imagine a world without Stan Lee. #CelebratingStanLee <3."

Mark Hamill, known for his portrayal of Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars films, did the commentary for the tribute. Praising this, one fan tweeted, "Seeing @HamillHimself providing his commentary during the #CelebratingStanLee special is so great. A legend honoring a legend."

One fan hailed the tribute and wrote, "I'm loving #CelebratingStanLee! Great tribute to a legend!"

"Boggles your mind when you think about how different things would be without Stan Lee," wrote another.

"@ABCNetwork, an inspiration, a real hero who influenced change in many lives for the better!" tweeted a fan.

A fan exulted, "@TheRealStanLee and his creations helped shape my life for the better! Grateful to see this special about his contribution to @Marvel, comic books, pop culture, and all of the true believers out there. Thank you, Stan the Man."

"#CelebratingStanLee is really emotional, it’s making me miss him a lot more!!! RIP @TheRealStanLee You will be missed so much. EXCELSIOR!!!" Wrote another one.

As Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki in the MCU, says towards the end of the tribute, "Stan started a story that has no end. We must keep going."
