PUBLISHED AUG 25, 2019

Disney announced a special treat for young Marvel fans during D23 Expo 2019. Disney Television Animation, Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment, and Lawrence Fishburne's Cinema Gypsy Productions are working on a new Disney series titled 'Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur'. The original animated show will be an adaptation of Marvel's highly popular comic book series of the same name.

Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming show:

Release Date

'Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur' will arrive on television in 2020.

Where to watch?

Deadline reports that the animated series does not have a set network yet. This means the show could air on either Disney Channel, Disney XD or Disney Junior. We'll be updating this section when we have more details.

Plot

The series follows the adventures of 13-year-old Lunella Lafayette, the smartest mind on the planet, and her terrifying T-Rex, Devil Dinosaur. They meet after an accident with time travel but soon become fast friends. The duo works together to protect the Lower East Side of their city from any and all threats using her uber-cool gadgets, roller-skating skills, and giant rampaging dinosaur. Oh, and if they're following the comics, she's also an Inhuman with the power to swap minds with Devil Dinosaur.

“Lunella doesn’t know she is the smartest person on the planet, but audiences will soon know how very cool Moon Girl is,” said Cort Lane, SVP of Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment, during the show's presentation. "Her adventures with giant buddy Devil Dinosaur are filled with so much wonder and joy, and this historic partnership with Disney Television Animation and Cinema Gypsy Productions proved the right formula to bring them to television.”

Cast

The voice cast for the show has not been announced yet. Watch this space for updates.
