Spoiler alert for 'Captain Marvel,' 'Doctor Doom,' 'Avengers,' and 'Daredevil'

Marvel has released its solicitations for May, revealing new covers, variants and introducing new series. While the solicitations continue both 'Empyre' and 'Outlawed' events, there are a few other reveals that particularly caught our eye and we need to talk about them. While we've talked about some of the other releases already, this is our list of five most eye-catching reveals from Marvel's May solicitations.

5. Captain Marvel gets her own hammer

It's hammer time for Captain Marvel #18, wielding a new Kree weapon as the solicitation declares, "CAPTAIN MARVEL IS THE SUPREME ACCUSER!" Wielding the hammer in the service of Emperor Hulkling, the cover by Jorge Molina shows Captain Marvel holding the new hammer as lightning flashes behind her, as clear a Thor reference as it can get, only as an Accuser, it's Captain Marvel who will be judging who is worthy, and who isn't.

4. Iron Man gets a baby

Whose idea was it to give Iron Man a baby? In 'Avengers' #34, the Avengers deal with a New York that's been reshaped by an army of mummies and moon priests into the image of ancient Egypt. Notable on the cover is a baby strapped to Iron Man's chest, which seems wildly irresponsible, especially considering that Iron Man's main weapon shoots straight out of his chest. Were there really no other Avengers who could hold the kid?

As for who the kid could be, it's very like the Starbrand child, born in 'Avengers' #30, with the power to destroy planets. If that's the case, maybe it's the one protecting Iron Man? Still, Tony, you couldn't have at least given the kid a helmet?

3. Doctor Doom gets the Ultimate Nullifier

'Doctor Doom' #8 has been going through a rough time in his solo series. Framed and dethroned from his Latverian throne, he has been slowly trying to work his way back up to the top and by #8, he appears to be very much there. Organizing an invasion of the neighboring nation of Symkaria, he's armed with his own skills, a robot army, and the most powerful weapon in the Marvel Universe — the Ultimate Nullifier. With Doom now armed with a weapon that can wipe out anything or anyone it's pointed at, the robot army really feels redundant, on this point, but they still loom large on the cover.

2. Ms Marvel's costume gets its own series

We feel we should stress. Ms Marvel already has her own series. It's her costume that stars in this new one. After a visit to an alien planet, Ms Marvel found an abandoned Kree outpost that designed a circuitry empowered smart costume that responded to her mental commands. As Spider-Man could no doubt have told her, costumes that have their own intelligence tend to go bad and spinoff into their own adventures. Ms Marvel's costume, who believes that Ms Marvel is too soft on criminals, has split with her and calls itself Stormranger. In a new series that's written by Saladin Ahmed, and drawn by Steve Cummings, we see the costume join Earth's war with the Kree/Skrull Empire, but what side will it take in the conflict?

1. Daredevil gets One More Day

'One More Day' is a very ominous phrase to a long-time Marvel fan. It's the title of the infamous storyline that saw Peter Parker make a literal deal with the devil, Mephisto, to save a dying Aunt May. Parker's guilt over Aunt May's injury comes from the fact that she was shot because he revealed to the world that he was Spider-Man. Mephisto agrees to help, in addition to wiping the memory of Spider-Man's identity from the world's memories, in exchange for changing reality so that Spider-Man was never married to Mary Jane in the first place.

Daredevil has already had a similar One More Day moment, using the powers of the Purple Man's children to wipe knowledge of his secret identity from the world, but it appears that he might have a deal of his own to be made. The solicitations gives next to no information, simply exclaiming "ONE MORE DAY!" in the info for 'Daredevil Annual' #1, but that's really all it needs to do to generate buzz amongst Marvel fans.
