Spoilers for 'Manifest' Season 2 Episode 13 'Icing Conditions'

In a bittersweet season finale, 'Manifest' dropped several shocking bombs and it will certainly be on our minds for days to come. The episode begins with two major characters — Zeke Landon (Matt Long) and Cal Stone (Jack Messina) — standing at death's door.

Throughout the hour-long drama, a lot of suspense builds around both the characters and in the end, someone else is dead. In a tussle with the Major (Elizabeth Marvel), Saanvi Bahl (Parveen Kaur) somehow becomes responsible for her death and before breathing her last, Major says, "I am a powerful mutation and you cannot replicate it." Did the Major want to duplicate 828 passengers and weaponize them through genetic mutation? There are a lot of questions unanswered and it is not clear if she is really dead or may come back, just like Robert Vance (Daryl Edwards).

As the episode is about to come to a close, Zeke has an intuition about where they have to go. With his final moments approaching, Zeke and Michaela Stone (Melissa Roxburgh) share an emotional moment and go to save Cal. Michaela and Jayce Baylor (James McMenamin) come face to face with a gun but right at that moment, the snow breaks and they all fall into the ice-cold water. Zeke jumps into the water to save Cal and Ben Stone( Josh Dallas) wades through it to bring him up. After a lot of struggle, they find Zeke too and help him up. However, it is too late. Zeke breathes his last in Michaela's arms. Just when you think it's the end of their love story, there is a miracle, a glow on his face, and he springs back to life.

What happened that Zeke came back to life? Michaela calls it a "miracle" but we do need a logical explanation, don't we? Moreover, when the NYPD look for the bodies of the three criminals — Kory Jephers (DazMann Still), Jayce (James McMenamin) and Pete Baylor (Devin Harjes) — there is no sign of it. Were they really just shadows? Did the callings simply redirect the Stone family into danger? Adrian's (Jared Grimes) speculations about the calling being "Agents of the Apocalypse" could be true, couldn't it?

If that was not all, the episode ends with another cliffhanger. Ben has a calling. The entire plane explodes into ashes and then he sees a ship with a new set of faces. Birds circle around in the sky as the ship comes into focus and the men look at something strange. The ship reads, "Montego Airways," and a man says, "Are those 828 passengers?" Will the story go back into the past and explore where the passengers were for five years?

As 'Manifest' comes back with another season, there is a lot more to look forward to. The Manifest Writers Room even teased in a tweet: "Just pulled a little something up out of the water for you all to chew on until we meet again..." With all the suspense, fans are waiting to know what will unfold. All we hope is that the mystery is solved at some point in the series before it becomes a huge drag, don't you think so too?
