Jung Whee-in, professionally known as Wheein and as a member of the K-pop girl group Mamamoo, is set to drop her very first solo mini-album this month. Mark your calendars as the new project titled 'Redd' is arriving soon.
Wheein is a South Korean singer signed to RBW Entertainment. In 2020, her group Mamamoo released their 10th EP ‘Travel’, featuring hits such as ‘Dingga’ and ‘Aya’. That same year, Wheein’s fellow members dropped solo releases. Solar made her solo debut with the single ‘Spit It Out’ while Moonbyul and Hwasa each dropped mini-albums, otherwise known as extended plays (EPs). Wheein has recently been teasing a solo comeback, much to the excitement of fans and on April 1, she unveiled the official schedule for 'Redd'. Here's all you need to know about Wheein's solo debut EP.
Wheein's first mini-album will be released both digitally and physically on April 13 at 6 pm KST / 5 am EST.
How to live stream?
It is currently unclear which streaming platform will 'Redd' release on but several of its promotional content will feature on NAVER V, according to a new poster. We will update this space when we receive more information.
As previously mentioned, 'Redd' will mark the first solo mini-album by Wheein. In April 2018, Wheein made her debut as a solo artist with her digital single 'Easy', and in September 2019, she released her first single album 'Soar'. In March, RBW Entertainment made an announcement about her solo comeback, saying, “She is preparing for a solo comeback with the goal of release in April. We will release further details about the album once things are finalized,” as translated by Soompi.
Then earlier this week, Wheein shared the first teaser for her upcoming solo music release. In the teaser video, we see the artist splatter red paint on a large canvas, followed by scribbles of text and a flower at the end of the clip.
