'Making The Cut': Sabato's blunder left Sanders with unstitched garments but Heidi Klum calls it 'perfect'

Paris can work wonders on the creative mind and it surely did in this episode.
In episode 3 of Amazon-backed 'Making The Cut,' the designers got yet another opportunity to showcase what they were truly made of by sending down models wrapped in clothing created to 'cut through the noise.' The contestants were grouped in teams of two to create collaboration looks for their showing two days later.
"A major marketing trend is collaborating with other designers and fashion brands to create a unique line that blends to aesthetics," said mentor Tim Gunn and added that it will help them asses what they can achieve when they get together with another creative individual. The idea was to test if they were able to work well as a team and could create a balance between two very different styles and aesthetics.
Sabato Russo and Sander Bos, the winning team of the episode, knew what they wanted and constructed exactly that. However, their experience at the atelier was not an easy-going one. With Sabato not knowing how to stitch fabrics, most of the workload fell on Sanders' shoulders but he didn't mind filling in for him.
But, that was not all. Things started to go south for the designer duo when the seamstress sent back half-done garments because Sabato put all of their unstitched garments in one bag. Each team has access to two seamstresses, which meant Sabato had to arrange the clothes separately. Sanders was shocked and taken aback but he didn't spend time wallowing over what had been done. The sprightly, young boy got down to stitching the rest of their clothing.
It's a challenge when one is participating in global competition and their technical skills are not as polished as needed. Previously, Marth Gottwald was eliminated simply because she didn't know how to stitch her garments, which resulted in her using multiple safety pins to hold the dresses together. And that was how it went on the runway. Fortunately, for Sabato, he has been saved from that trouble so far.
The judges - Heidi Klum, Joseph Altuzarra, Nicole Richie, Carine Roitfeld, Naomi Campbell - seem to have loved what Sabato and Sanders had to offer, with Heidi even calling it "perfect." "The wind was really working in your favor because when the coat dress walked down...", Nicole paused in awe of it, while Joseph continued that it was amazing the amount of work that went into those dresses and the fact that they finished it all in time.
Naomi thought their fashion story reflected in the clothes and the silhouettes were extremely fluid.
