In all honesty, Nanako and Odacchi seemed beyond perfect initially, and it'd be safe to say that most of the girls were even jealous of her. A happy wife is a happy life, they say, and Odacchi could make Nanako laugh almost effortlessly. In addition, he was also able to open up to her and was comfortable enough to show her his vulnerable side. So what changed in Okinawa?
In the getaway episode, an indoor barbeque was organized for the contestants, and everyone attended as couples; Midori and Wataru, Nanako and Odacchi, Motomi and Ryotaro, Kaoru and Misaki, and Minami and Mori.
Nanako sees how each couple is with one another and it upset her to think that what she has with Odacchi is not how she pictured her love life to be at all. She voices out her concern to him, further saying that things are not working between the two. Odachhi tears up and said that he wishes she spoke up in real-time. Knowing that he upset her, in turn, made him regret his action. Unfortunately, there's no going back now since Nanako has already made up her mind. We see her leaving the villa with her things.
Nanako could start to see a pattern from her previous marriage; she couldn't talk to her ex-husband openly about anything. Similarly, the distance between her and Odacchi grew, even though they were together. The more the gap increased, the more profound her doubts began e to seem.
'Love is Blind: Japan' was released on February 8, 2022, on Netflix.
