'Love is Blind: Japan': It was love at first talk for Odacchi and Nanako
Someone wise once said, "When you know, you know". That's exactly what had viewers' guts drop at the instant connection between Odacchi and Nanako, on 'Love is Blind: Japan'. Call it a fairytale or a match made in heaven, this duo surely made our hearts melt.
Nanako was very open about her previous marriage, right from the start. It's vital for a comedian to gauge their audience since expressions speak volumes. How did Odacchi manage to win over Nanako, a ballet dancer he has never set eyes on? Two conversations later, Odacchi surprisingly didn't develop feelings for Nanako — he only wanted to be a strong support system and cheer her up. But what changed in the following talk?
Their next date was a teary-eyed one. Odacchi somehow found himself bonding with Nanako on an emotional level, so much that he kept weeping while talking about a tough time in his life. At a time when a dangerous earthquake was due, Odacchi recalled praying hard for his father to survive and make it out of the hospital. That day, he realized that if the world were to end, he'd rather spend his last breaths with his family by his side. He once felt like he wanted to save his father, and now, he feels that way about Nanako. Odacchi tearfully confesses to Nanako, promising to take care of her.
The next day, Nanako walks into a pod filled with rose petals in every corner. On the other side of the wall, Odacchi is prim and proper, dressed in a suit with a shiny box in one hand. Is it what we think it is? Odacchi is seemingly nervous as he squirms before finally getting down on one knee and pops the big question. Nanako cries happy tears, agrees to marry him, and promises to take care of Odacchi as well. In hindsight, Nanako thought the difference in age would be an issue, but clearly, love counts, not numbers!
'Love is Blind: Japan' was released on February 8 on Netflix.
