'Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power' on Amazon: Fantasy genre franchise not ready to leave big screen?
As we know the 'Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power' is all set to premiere on Thursday, September 1, 2022, on Amazon Prime but as it seems even though the series is finalized to be aired doesn't mean they are ready to leave the big screen yet. The franchise prepared to screen its first two episodes at fan events across the world on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, two days before it makes its streaming debut on Amazon Prime Video.
Cinemark apparently made a page for the one-night-only event, with a disclaimer that the tickets for the show will be available from Monday, August 22, 2022, at 9 am PT. The reservation also comes with a $10 snack voucher. The 'Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power' event is only available to Cinemark Movie Rewards members. The theater chain’s two-tiered loyalty program includes a free subscription option. Outside of the US and Canada, Amazon will also screen the series in locations in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Argentina, Colombia, Australia, and New Zealand. Reports indicate that the fan event will unfold across roughly 200 locations globally.

According to Variety, The decision to bring 'The Rings of Power' to theaters, even if only for one night, represents a largely unprecedented push by Amazon for an upcoming program. Amazon Prime Video will debut both of the first two 'The Rings of Power' episodes on Thursday, September 1, 2022. Following the premiere, the series will switch to a one-episode per week release format, debuting its remaining six episodes on each subsequent Friday.
If you still don't know what the $400 million show is about, here's the plot for you, "This series brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth's history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings' and takes viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien's pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared reemergence of evil on Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone."
