‘My feet were hurting’: Lizzo seen slamming Met Gala 2022 in resurfaced clip before attending Anna Wintour’s 2023 pre-event dinner
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A resurfaced video of Lizzo slamming last year’s Met Gala and complaining about long lines, lack of food, and “stingy liquor” made the rounds online after she battled an awkward situation with a bright smile while arriving at Anna Wintour’s pre-Met Gala dinner party at the latter’s private residence in New York on Sunday, April 30.
In the clip, seemingly captured from an Instagram live video, the ‘Juice’ hitmaker could also be heard calling out the seating arrangement and absence of cocktails in the 2022 event as well as expressing her disappointment at the paparazzi capturing photos. For her latest appearance at Anna Wintour’s pre-Met Gala dinner, Lizzo wore a semi-sheer purple midi-dress and joined celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Penelope Cruz and Sienna Miller.

‘My feet were hurting’
In the resurfaced clip showing Lizzo’s complaints against the star-studded event, the rapper could be heard saying, “There's a long f***ing line. I'm taking the glamour away from it but it's true. You've gotta wait.” She continued, “So you're waiting and that's the hardest part. I was sweating in a big-ass coat, my feet were hurting.”
She also complained about the lack of seating arrangement and booze, saying, “They don't have no chairs, no cocktails. I was like, "B***h? Can we get some chairs or some drinks or some hors d'oeuvres?” Once inside the venue, the musician was left disappointed further after a waiter informed her that the only alcohol available at the venue was red or white wine.
“They were being really stingy with the liquor that night. He was like, ‘Red or white wine?’ And I was like, ‘Tequila! Do you know what I've been through? Do you know how many hours I've been in this corset? How long I've been in these damn shoes? Tequila!’” she recalled.
‘The photographers were heckling me’
Lizzo, who performed a flute solo on the red carpet of last year’s Met Gala, also called out the photographers who snapped her photos during the performance. “I had this plan to play the flute and do the whole intro [of a classical piece] but I got nervous and I only played it once because all the photographers were heckling me,” she shared.
“They were like, ‘You're putting us to sleep with the flute!’ I was like, ‘OK?’ In my mind I thought everyone was going to be transfixed. So I only played it once, only the first half of it. Then I posed and got the photos,” Lizzo added. “This is like prom for celebrities . . . My prom f***ing sucked. Now I feel like the Grammys and the Met Ball, they're like my prom,” the rapper concluded at the time.
