For the ‘Special’ cause
The post was made after Lizzo debuted a very brief set of 'Beyonce' fringe last week in Cleveland, Ohio, during her Special Tour. The artist, who recently performed wearing a low-cut purple dress, shared a number of selfies on Instagram showcasing her edgy appearance.
Lizzo captioned her glam slideshow, "Short bang gave until she didn't." The singer-songwriter included footage of herself addressing the crowd from the Cleveland stage while flaunting her fringe and donning a shimmering green bodysuit. Lizzo received a lot of support from her fans in the comments area of her Instagram post, where she has over 13 million followers.
Lizzo's ongoing ‘The Special Tour’, which began in September 2022, is now in progress. The singer's concert tour was created to promote ‘Special’, her most recent album. The song had its debut in July of last year and reached its US Billboard 200 chart peak at number two. It received generally favorable reviews from reviewers.
In support of drag queens
The artist later kicked off her tour with a packed house show at Sunrise, Florida's FLA Live Arena. Lizzo's tour, which included multiple European gigs in February and March, featured musicians including Latto, Saucy Santana, and Bree Runway as support. The singer also attracted a lot of attention when, at a performance in Knoxville, Tennessee, in April, she brought out a number of drag queens to the stage in opposition to the state's laws prohibiting open drag performances.
Nevertheless, the singer's tour has not been without challenges, as she previously canceled her scheduled date in Montreal after suffering flu-like symptoms. Lizzo was then forced to postpone her scheduled performance in Hartford, Connecticut, and she later made a video to inform her supporters that she had strep throat. The new dates for the performances are June 11 and 13, respectively. The hitmaker will play at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan on July 30 to round off her current tour.
