Lizzo suffers wardrobe malfunction as she shows off curves in her new shapewear line
‘Truth Hurts’ singer Lizzo suffered a wardrobe malfunction while showing off her upcoming shapewear line, Yitty, which officially launches on April 12. The singer, who has always been a supporter of body positivity, flaunted her curves as she danced in the 'Jelly Red' bodysuit.
"Rock it however you want. You can just [shimmies and shakes] and still move," Lizzo said in the Instagram video posted on Monday. However, at one point she realized the crotch of her red bodysuit was dangerously riding up and she exclaimed: "Oh my god, my c****ie!"
A day earlier, the 33-year-old twerked in a ‘nearly naked’ attire leaving fans impressed. In the video, Lizzo showed off her favorite designs and explained how the shapewear has helped her "heal" her "insecurities." In a nude high-waisted 'panty and bra combo,' the singer, 33, put on a racy display as she danced for the camera. Lizzo struck many stances in the eye-catching footage, saying, “I used to be taking my pictures like this.” And before bending and twerking, she said, “Now you're going to get all of this.”

She modeled the matching underwear set from the front, side, and back in three consecutive Instagram images to her 12.1 million followers. “Introducing the Nearly Naked line from @yitty!” she wrote and added, "This panty + bra combo is my DREAM. Easy to put on but still like a second skin !" In another post, she said, “My insecurities being cured in real time.” Then in another video, she wrote, “NO FILTER. NO FACETUNE. JUST A**.”
The jaw-dropping photos come after Lizzo announced her foray into the fashion industry with the launch of 'Yitty', her shapewear collection. In a statement announcing her new business on Thursday, March 31, 2022, the singer mentioned body positivity. “I felt that I was constantly being told through TV and magazines that my body wasn't good enough,” Lizzo claimed. She continued, “And, in order to be considered ‘acceptable’ I had to inflict some sort of pain upon it to fit into an archetype of beauty.”
Lizzo, who was born Melissa Viviane Jefferson, said that she named the brand after her childhood nickname. ‘Yitty’ will launch with three separate fashion lines: Nearly Naked, which will be seamless; Mesh Me, which will be mesh-based; and Major Label, which will comprise more traditional items. Elaborating on the brand's mission, she said that she is in to shift the fashion focus from “sad, restrictive shapewear” to something that boosts “self-love.” She explained, “Instead of thinking about size in this linear way, we're thinking about it on a spectrum where everyone is included.” Moreover, she added, “Everyone's size is just their size. It's not high, it's not low. It's not big, it's not small. It's just your size.”
Since her rise to fame, Lizzo has been displaying her nude or bikini-clad physique in social media images for several years. In December 2020, she told Essence that she intended to "normalize" bodies like hers, saying, “I’m doing this for myself. I love creating shapes with my body, and I love normalizing the dimples in my butt or the lumps in my thighs or my back fat, or my stretch marks. I think it’s beautiful.”
