Spoilers for season 1 episode 9 'Apples and Oranges' of 'Limetown'

In the last episode of 'Limetown' titled 'Scarecrow', Lia Haddock (Jessica Biel) is contacted by Dr Max Finlayson's wife Diedre Wells (Marlee Matlin), who tells her that it was she who was responsible for the Panic.

After she is caught with the implant, tensions in Limetown between the haves and the have-nots begin to rise. With growing inequality in the air, tensions between Max (Louis Ferriera) and Diedre also continued to rise. Despite the tech, they started feeling even further apart than they were. With their vulnerabilities no longer their secrets, Max and Diedre's relationship was ailed by the silences they couldn't get around.

When the Panic finally happened, it ended in misery. Those with the tech can't help but listen to others suffer and die - they listen to Oskar Totem (Alessandro Juliani) being burnt alive. By the time Diedre finishes her story, the FBI breaks into her home. While she can't say much at this point, Diedre tells her to not let anyone stop her. And so, by the end of the episode, something dawns upon Lia - The Man They Were There For was never Oskar Totem - it was her uncle Emile (Stanley Tucci). To the audience that isn't well-versed with the original podcast, it came as a surreal revelation. Could Emile have the power to listen to people's minds? Was he always listening to what was going on in Lia's mind as well? He probably was.

In the upcoming episode, "an unknown survivor sends Lia a disturbing video file with a promise that she has all the answers". A promise like that is enough to lure Lia to her, whose quest about the answers for Limetown has resulted in the deaths of several survivors. In 'Acceptable Loss', Lia also loses a Mark (Omar Elba) although not under circumstances she couldn't control. But are there any terms and conditions to the meeting this time around?

At the same time, the FBI is closely behind Lia wanting to shut down every investigation into Limetown. They had warned her before her meeting with Diedre that one step out of the line would cost her the story.

Two new episodes of 'Limetown' will be available every Wednesday at 12 pm PT/ 3 pm ET on Facebook Watch.
