Possible spoilers for episode 1 of 'Limetown'

'Limetown's first episode has a startling beginning. 'I Have Heard the Future' begins with Jessica Biel's Lia Haddock receiving a warning. A 40-year-old man is banging his head on her door warning her to stop her investigations into the happenings of Limetown. "You can't scare me," Haddock yells back at him.

Based on the podcast of the same name, the series jumps to eight days before this warning. Biel plays the role of Lia Haddock, an American Public Radio journalist who is investigating what happened in Limetown, a neuroscience research community, which saw the disappearance of over 326 people overnight.

What baffles Lia the most is that investigations into the disappearance of the hundreds of people could never meet its ends and now, 15 years later, not one of the 326 vanished citizens has been found. Lia goes looking for answers in the desolate land of Limetown. The city's tragedy is prevalent throughout these first few scenes and the haunting images of an empty town are eerily similar to that of a post-apocalyptic world. But the answers she has gone looking for don't even meet her halfway.

At the same time, her editor also asks her to make this story into a personal story rather than a historic document, which is what she thinks it is because Lia just cannot find enough clues in the right direction. The mystery, however, is particularly personal to Lia. Her uncle Emile Haddock (Stanley Tucci) was among those who went missing. What makes matters worse is that there is very little evidence pointing Lia in the right direction and she must now sift through the unnecessary clutter to find her way. She knows for a fact that something happened there but there is no way that she can prove it.

But there at the end of the first episode, Lia gets her first-ever break. A sudden call from a certain someone puts her on the path she has been looking for. And the quest goes on.

'Limetown' premieres on Facebook Watch on October 16, 2019.
