MTV’s Leah Messer, who started her journey on '16 and Pregnant', followed by ‘Teen Mom 2’, has been extremely open with her fans about her life. While she managed to gain the love and support of others, her life had been a journey. In the latest teaser of ‘Teen Mom 2’, Leah Messer talks about her addiction to pain medicine and her battle with drugs, which is also the content of her book, ‘Hope, Grace, & Faith’, which got published in May 2020.

Messer found her journey to be quite an emotional one as we could see her getting super candid on her struggles in the teaser of the upcoming episode. From dealing with mental health to gaining strength, Leah has come a long way as she says, “Even though so much of my past has been played out on TV, there’s a lot that I haven’t dealt with publicly.”

While talking to one of the show's producers, Brendan Carr, Leah said, “It’s an autobiography and a self-help book - it has become way deeper than what I thought it was gonna be.”

During a phone call with her editor, she reveals the name of her book, ‘Hope, Grace, & Faith’, Hope being her daughter Ali’s middle name, she also goes on to say that a lot of things have happened in her life that she has not completely been honest about and she is finally ready to open about it. “I have never said this before but I was addicted to pain medication,” confirms Leah in the teaser.

A fan commented on the teaser saying, “I’m so glad you are able to speak your truth. The drug problem was not hidden though. It was evident but you thought you were hiding it.” Leah Messer responded to it saying, “Yess. Def evident, but I feel like the stigma created shame and guilt around owning my addiction or having the fighting chance to a road of recovery.”

In an exclusive interview with MEAWW, Leah revealed that she decided of turning her life around when she had reached a point where she was contemplating suicide. "I was contemplating suicide and driving recklessly to take my own life that is when I knew I needed the help. That is when I realized my addiction had become a matter of life or death and my life was worth the sacrifice to be a better mother and woman in my community," she said.

'Teen Mom 2' airs on Tuesdays at 8 pm ET on MTV.
