The 'Law & Order: SVU' Season 22 is coming up with a progressive and visionary narrative. While earlier the new season stressed racial injustice protests and police brutality, episode two dropped subtle hints on the adoration of revered Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg who died this year at the age of 87. Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg aka RBG has been a harbinger of justice and one of the most progressive judges the United States has ever had in SCOTUS as hailed in media.

RBG spent most of her legal career striving for key matters like gender equality and women's rights. The notable figure got well received even in popular culture for her zealous dissents and her liberal views. “In her principles, she’s much more radical than I think a lot of people realize,” said Shana Knizhnik who penned the book ‘Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’. She added about RBG, “She’s fought for ideals that even today may seem pretty radical, and at the time were simply unheard of: the idea that marriage could be an egalitarian institution, the idea that gender norms really don’t mean anything and are not helpful to anyone.”

In pop culture discourse, judge RBG stood out with her dressing sense which was mostly genderless and intentionally bland but still exuded femininity and fierce devotion to gender parity. Her attire included an oversized black robe and lacy collars and jabots that were an expression of her femininity in a male-dominated courtroom. Now, 'Law & Order: SVU' Season 22, episode two has showcased some instances where RBG and her justice rendering aura is reflected. Be it detective Olivia Benson’s (Mariska Hargitay)’s black and silver clutch or a framed portrait of RBG on her desk, or the show’s courtroom scene showing a lawyer resembling RBG, the episode nailed it in paying a loving tribute to Ginsburg. The production house of ‘Law and Order: SVU’ named Wolf Entertainment also posted an update iterating the honoring of RBG in the NBC crime drama.

No sooner than the fans noticed such scenes from the show they started to comment how much they liked the depiction and veneration of RBG. A user wrote, “Hey @nbcsvu where can we get ourselves RBG collar bag like Benson?” Another concurred, “I’m enjoying all the RBG references tonight. They’re subtle but I see them. Olivia’s folder she was holding, the two judges. I see you.” Another wrote in surprise, “Is it just me or does the judge look like #RBG.” Fans adored the reference to RBG. “Omg, and I loved the clutch Olivia was holding #RBG.” A user mentioned the portrait of RBG. “As if I couldn’t love Captain Olivia Benson even more than I already do, she now has a 12x8 framed photo of RBG in her office.” Another wrote, “I love it. Two Legends in One Office.RBG & Captain Olivia Benson.”
