'LA's Finest Season 2 Episode 3: What was Izzy using the sex toys for and why is Nancy concerned?

Nancy and Izzy's relationship has been rather dicey ever since the latter was kidnapped in the previous season

LA's finest Nancy McKenna(Jessica Alba) and Sydney Burnett (Gabriel Union) are back to serve up some justice, uncover the truth about Jen's murder in the previous season, while tracking down the reasons behind the surge in Koreatown. There's a lot happening, and the two tough women are running behind hardened criminals, dodging bullets, explosions, surviving almost being drowned, while battling their own personal traumas.

Syd is still coming to terms with her friend Jen's death and is trying to put together clues and track down her murderer. Her sexcapades on the side provide some comfort, but obviously not enough. Meanwhile, Nancy's marital life has taken a turn for the worse since the last season. After her step-daughter Izzy's kidnap, things are pretty much over between Nancy and her husband, Patrick (Ryan McPartlin). They've been practically icy to each other and it doesn't help matters that Nancy offered to keep secrets for Izzy.

Nancy has had her antennae up about Izzy since the beginning of the season. She found suspicious wads of cash in Izzy's room and she discovered that Izzy had been buying sex toys. Jumping to the worst possible conclusion, she confronts Izzy, who tells her to mind her business. Using all her detective energy, Nancy tracks down where Izzy has been working, and it turns out that Izzy is making Azmar videos, where she makes 'whisper videos' for people, who are suffering from insomnia and find her voice calming. Apparently, the sex toys were just props. She confirms it's a wholly innocent business and she makes money out of it. She has been dying to break away from being a candidate's daughter and recover from her abduction in the previous season At first, Izzy is furious with her, and says that she knows that Nancy and Patrick are just keeping up a ruse at home till his political campaign is over. Izzy mends fences with Nancy after she gets into a car accident and agrees to tell Patrick about her secret job. He finds out on his own, and he is least pleased with Izzy and even less so with Nancy.

Relationships are under fire and it doesn't quite help that Nancy has found a handsome drinking buddy in a bar. To move on?
