Actress Kim Sae-ron, who shot to fame as a child star in the 2009 film 'A Brand New Life' before taking up more roles as a young adult, might have ended her acting career for good at the young age of 22 years. Fans of K-drama 'Bloodhounds' were shocked to find out that the actress had been fired from the show after she was caught in a drunk driving scandal. On the morning of May 17, it was reported that the actress was booked for driving under the influence as well as causing an accident when her SUV took a sharp turn and bumped into an electric transformer in the Gangnam district.

Ever since the scandal, Kim Sae-ron as well as her management company, Gold Medalist, have apologized for causing the controversy. Sae-ron on the other hand has also paid for the repair of damages caused by her reckless behavior. But now, even though she has repented, she is still facing the consequences of her hasty action that could have risked many lives.

Kim Sae-ron dropped from Netflix drama 'Bloodhounds'

The actress was set to star in a string of career-making roles as she was cast in not one but three projects slated to release in the year to come. However, immediately after the scandal, the makers of the K-drama ‘Trolley’ announced that the actress would no longer feature on their show. Following that, on May 23 it was announced that Kim Sae-ron was also being kicked out of the upcoming Netflix series ‘Hounds,’ also known as ‘Bloodhounds’ or ‘Hunting Dogs’. Kim Sae-ron was going to appear in the K-drama alongside famous actor Woo Do-hwan who was seen in K-dramas like ‘The King: Eternal Monarch’ and ‘Tempted’ among many others. ‘Bloodhounds’ will be Do-hwan's first project after being released from the military.

The makers of the show announced that the Netflix show would stop filming following Kim Sae-ron’s drunk driving controversy. But the production also stated that since the makers have already filmed a large part of Kim Sae-ron’s role, she cannot be edited out of the scenes. It was revealed that, following a discussion with the actress, it was decided that she would not continue filming for the show ‘Hounds’ beyond what had already been filmed.

Kim Sae-ron's DUI accident sinks her career

The show tells the story of three young men who set foot in the world of loan sharks in pursuit of money but eventually get too caught up in its murky web. The show is based on the original Naver webtoon of the same name. Kim Sae-ron took on the role of Hyeon-joo, who is like a family member to CEO Choi and will be succeeding him.

Back when Kim Sae-ron’s DUI scandal was initially released, CCTV footage revealed that the vehicle had crashed into the transformer and broken its outer protective covering as well as uprooted the device causing a power outage for hours. The actress did not leave the vehicle to inspect the damage caused by her car. But after numerous police reports, her vehicle was looked up and she was booked. Police reported that Kim Sae-ron declined to take the breathalyzer test and asked for her blood to be drawn instead.
