Fans are anticipating the return of Netflix’s funniest bodyguard, Woo Do-hwan who was last seen in the SBS K-drama, ‘The King: Eternal Monarch’ that also aired on Netflix. He played not one, but two roles — Jo Eunseob and Jo Yeong – characters from two different parallel universes. He played Jo Yeong with a taciturn and stern attitude but Woo Dohwan also showed off his comedic side as Jo Eunseob — a fan favorite character.

Soon after the drama ended, Woo Dohwan began his mandatory military enlistment on July 6, 2020, leading fans to miss the actor a lot who prayed for his safe return. Over the last few weeks, Dohwan has been generating quite the buzz all thanks to his impending return from the military.

Woo Dohwan took to his social media platforms to inform fans that he will not be coming back home from the military for a short vacation ahead of his discharge in accordance to the rules of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Korea. Dohwan bags lead role in Netflix K-drama

Usually, idols and actors do not immediately land new projects after their discharge and often take some personal time off after serving their country. Such is not the case for Woo Dohwan and it looks like fans' prayers for his early come back to the screen have been answered. It is reported that Woo Dohwan will be a part of the Netflix original K-drama ‘Hounding Dogs’. On November 5, it was reported that this will be his first lead appearance after being the main lead of 2018 K-drama opposite Joy of Red Velvet, ‘Tempted’ (also called, ‘The Great Seducer’).

The production team of the K-drama, ‘Hounding Dogs’, announced that Woo Dohwan will take the lead role on the show alongside actors Lee Sang-yi who was last seen and loved as PD-nim in the Kim Seonho starrer K-drama, ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ as well as former child actress Kim Sae-ron who was first seen in the K-drama, ‘Secret Healter’ at the age of 17. She was last seen in the 2021 web drama, ‘The Great Shaman Ga Doo-shim’.
