'It's wild': Katie Holmes reacts to teen daughter Suri Cruise watching 'Dawson's Creek' at her debut-age
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Batman Begins’ star Katie Holmes is flummoxed that her daughter Suri Cruise, 16, is the same age as when the 44 year old actress started her showbiz career. In a recent interview that was published on March 28, Holmes, revealed that Suri has watched ‘Dawson’s Creek’, her breakthrough series which had a successful run from 1998 to 2003.
Joey Potter of ‘Dawson’s Creek’ revealed in the interview that “She has seen “Dawson’s Creek,” referring to Suri. She then added, “I think it’s probably weird since she’s a teenager”. The ‘Alone Together’ star then said, "I’m not like, 'You need to watch mommy’s work'."

In the interview given to Variety, Holmes, who shares Suri with ‘Mission Impossible’ star Tom Cruise shared, “But during the pandemic, we had a good laugh about it”. She also finds it mystifying that her daughter is now almost of the age when she started her career, “It’s wild to have a daughter who’s almost the same age as I was when I began all this”.

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, who stayed married from 2006 to 2012, welcomed their daughter Suri in 2006. However, it is reported that Cruise has not had a relationship with Suri since 2013, a year after the couple divorced. Even if the father-daughter duo is not on the best of terms, according to Cruise and Holmes’s divorce settlements, the ‘Knight and Day’ star has reportedly agreed to pay $400,000 a year untill Suri is 18. Cruise has agreed to bear Suri’s expenses, including “medical, dental, insurance, education, college and other extracurricular costs” among others, reports Daily Mail.
According to a source, Suri has now reportedly started sending her college applications, as per Daily Mail. It’s also reported that even though she has a preference for fashion studies. The source said, “Suri is applying to schools all over the place. [Katie] really does want her to stay in New York so they can be close to each other. Katie takes great pride in her but is also extremely overprotective.”
