She has been raising her daughter Suri Cruise as a single parent in the best way possible and it is obvious that their love is stronger than ever. “You’d struggle to find a mom-daughter duo who are more in sync with each other,” an insider told Us Weekly. “They’re a real team, their connection is a beautiful thing to witness,” they added. It's also difficult to deny how stunning the two of them are. In celebration of her 16th birthday, Suri was recently spotted looking absolutely lovely. She looks to have the ideal combination of features from both of her parents, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. It has also been rumoured that Tom and her daughter do not have an active relationship and were last seen together when she was 6!
The father and daughter have rarely been seen together since the divorce in 2012. The last known images of Suri with her father date back to 2012, over ten years ago, when they went to Disneyland together, according to Hollywood Life. Tom "still loves" Suri, according to a source who talked to the magazine in April 2019, despite their separated relationship. “As challenging as things have become for him and his daughter, he still loves her,” the insider revealed at the time. “Tom never intended to be estranged from his daughter when he decided to have a family with Katie, and he looks forward to repairing their relationship one day.”

In 2005, Cruise and Holmes started dating. After only seven weeks of dating, they became engaged. They welcomed their daughter in April 2006, says Stylecaster. Holmes apparently started converting to Cruise's Church of Scientology even though she was raised Catholic. The actress, 42, put a lot of effort into raising their now teenage daughter in the manner that she desired after divorcing Tom Cruise in 2012. The actor, 57, who still belongs to the Church of Scientology, reportedly does not have a relationship with Suri.
Katie by 2012 had realized “she no longer had the life she wanted, in terms of her career, her way of life, everything." a source told PEOPLE that Holmes was growing more dissatisfied in her marriage. “It’s clear that Tom can be very persuasive and is very powerful. But once she decided to go, she was done,”, according to an insider who joined other sources in denying rumours that Holmes was concerned for her safety or that Scientology was the main cause of the breakup. Instead, the insider said, “she is the daughter of a lawyer: She knew she had to have everything locked down before she pulled the trigger because there could be no wiggle room if she didn’t want this to turn into a long, drawn-out battle. She wanted this to happen fast, and severing all ties in one fell swoop was the best way for that to happen.” Both Holmes and Cruise have remained tight-lipped about the exact reason for their divorce but sources claim that Cruise was left shocked by Holmes's decision.
Samantha Domingo, a former Scientologist who left the group in 2004, said to Us Weekly that Cruise is "not allowed" to have a relationship with his adolescent daughter since she is not a Scientologist. The 59-year-old actor and his daughter were last seen together in 2013. However, a Church spokesperson refuted all of Domingo's claims, calling them "fiction." “Every person is allowed to see their child if they wanted to. He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist.” a spokesperson said.
The mother-daughter team serves as a reminder that not all "families" have to look alike for it to be a happy family for the time being. On April 18th, Holmes shared a photo series on her Instagram in honor of Suri's 15th birthday, writing: Happy 15th Birthday Sweetheart! I love you!!!!!!!! ❤️💕😘 I can’t believe you are already 15! Whether or not the claims that Cruise hasn't seen his daughter in ten years are true, Katie and Suri are a content mother and daughter team. “My biggest goal has always been to nurture [Suri] into her individuality,” Katie told InStyle. "To make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident, and able. And to know it.”
