LONDON, UK: Meghan Markle fans are reportedly not happy with Kate Middleton as they have accused her of imitating the former actress’ look. The allegations began on the Internet after the Princess of Wales’ pre-recorded clip for the Eurovision Song Contest final was shared on The Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram account.

The caption of the post read, “A #Eurovision surprise. A pleasure to join @kalush.official in a special performance of last year’s winning @eurovision entry. Enjoy the show, Liverpool.” attracting a hundred thousand likes. The share also got comments, with one saying “Finally showing us Kate for the amazing woman she is. She has kept silent through so many unfair and unkind attacks and come through that challenge stronger and better than ever!” and “So the Princess of Wales is beautiful, kind, would look stunning even in a burlap sack, can walk gracefully in 3-inch heels in the snow, and can also play the piano. Is there anything she can’t do?!? She is amazing, born to fill this role!!”

‘So off-the-shoulder dresses are not a breach of protocol’

In the short clip, Middleton can be seen donning a Jenny Packham blue dress, which featured only one shoulder with ruffles. The mother of three chose the color to symbolize the Ukrainian flag as she played ‘Stefania,’ by Kalush Orchestra, on piano. Her attire looked very similar to the Duchess of Sussex’s Christopher John Rogers dress, which she wore at the NAACP Awards last year.

Soon criticisms began to pour in for Middleton as a user tweeted, “Looking like Meghan Markle, again. How very odd.” The second user wrote, “She even copied the hairstyle.” “So off-the-shoulder dresses are not a breach of (made up/non-existent) ‘protocol’ now I see. That was just when Meghan did it. God, our media is hypocritical. She looks great by the way. I’d just like some consistency in coverage, but I know that would never fit the narrative,” the third user pointed out.

A fan of Markle joked, “The dress. Lololololol I mean, was this meant to be funny? It’s actually really sad but I definitely laughed. I hope M can too.” Another fan remarked, “I thought royal insiders and palace sources said it was filthy and classless for royalty to wear off-the-shoulder dresses like the one Meghan the Duchess of Sussex wore to the @NAACP Awards. I guess it is only against protocol when the Black Duchess does it & not Kate Middleton.”
