Meghan Markle wrote she wanted to be ‘a royal rebel’ in blog about Kate Middleton posted two years before she met Prince Harry
SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle who previously claimed to be clueless about the royal family has seemingly debunked her own assertions in a resurfaced blog post from a now-defunct website ‘The Tig’. In the blog entry from 2014, the Dutches of Sussex writes about Kate Middleton's wedding with Prince William in 2011 where she appears to be scoffing at the "pomp and circumstance" and "endless conversation" about the royal nuptials.
According to the Daily Mail, Meghan, who wrote the post during her time on 'Suits', revealed that she dreamt of being a "royal rebel" rather than "a Cinderella" as a child. The 41-year-old also takes a dig at grown women who seem to carry on their "childhood fantasy" of becoming a princess while she wanted to be "She-Ra, Princess of Power." This comes after the former actress said that she had little awareness of the royals. Her husband Prince Harry also mentions in his bombshell memoir 'Spare' that that Meghan knew "almost nothing" about his family and had never searched about them online.

'Little girls dream of being princesses'
"Little girls dream of being princesses," Meghan wrote in the post, before adding, "I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power. For those of you unfamiliar with the '80s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength." She continued: "We're definitely not talking about Cinderella here."
Furthermore, Meghan expressed how she finds it strange when adult women seem to carry on their "childhood fantasy" of becoming a princess before taking a swipe at the public fascination and intrigue surrounding William and Kate's 2011 wedding. "Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy," she wrote. "Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate," Meghan further added.
Despite one of Meghan’s childhood best friends claiming that she was "fascinated" by the royal family during her youth, the ‘Dater’s Handbook’ actress has always insisted that she didn't grow up "knowing much" about them, she specifically claimed this during an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, as per the outlet.
Meghan described the blog as a 'passion project'
'Suits' director and producer as well as Meghan's longtime friend Silver Tree talked about the blog in Harry and Meghan's Netflix docuseries: "When she first was describing [the blog] to me, she was like, 'It's like your best friend telling you all the fun things you wish you knew about in one place.'" Before closing down the site in 2017, Meghan described it as a "passion project" that "evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun, and frivolity."
