'I was a hugger, always been a hugger'
Markle remembered the first time she came across Kate and William in the Netflix documentary 'Harry & Meghan'. "They came for dinner," Meghan said. The Duchess added, "I remember, I was in ripped jeans and I was barefoot. I was a hugger, always been a hugger. I didn't realize that is really jarring for a lot of Brits." The 41-year-old cracked a joke that the interaction was a quick lesson in royal etiquette. "That formality carries over on both sides, and that was surprising to me," Meghan further added.
The tension between the sister-in-laws' grew even more following Harry's accusations in the book, 'Spare', as he mentioned incidents of Kate "reluctantly" allowing Meghan to use her lip gloss and the infamous "baby brain" feud. "Kate, taken aback, went into her handbag and reluctantly pulled out a small tube," Harry wrote, adding that Prince William's wife made an unpleasant face while giving it to her.

Harry gave an insight into an incident in which Meghan accused Kate of having a "baby brain" after the birth of Louis. He said that the duchess demanded an apology, saying, "We're not close enough for you to talk about my hormones." Harry also claimed William called his wife rude while pointing at her face. Kate tried her best to make Meghan feel comfortable
The outlet reported that Kate seemingly tried her best to make Meghan feel at home. "As awkward as their initial meeting was, Kate did try to welcome Meghan," said the insider. The source added, "Kate's motto has always been, 'Just smile and do your best.' She told Meghan how things were properly done and what was unacceptable, and she would tell Meghan how she needed to fix things." But Meghan "wasn't very receptive."
There is no hope of healing the relationship between Kate and Meghan now. When Meghan and Harry left their royal duties and moved to the United States, they left William, Kate, the late Queen Elizabeth II to pick up the pieces. "It broke the Queen's heart," the outlet reported. "Even more, it convinced Kate that Meghan tried to bring the royal family down. And she will never forgive her for it."
