LONDON, UK: Prince Harry has made several shocking claims in his memoir 'Spare'. The Duke of Sussex has dropped several bombshells up until this moment. Now he has shared the first instance of the infamous bridesmaid dress fitting at the heart of 'Megxit'. Harry referred to an instance that involved his niece, Princess Charlotte, and Kate Middleton. It was the text conversation between kate and Meghan Markle that left the 'Suits' actor sobbing on the floor.

The disagreement between the Duchess of Sussex and the Princess of Wales was over an unfit bridesmaid dress. The disagreement between them grew tenfold when Kate refused to visit Meghan's tailor at Kensington Palace for alteration as "Charlotte's dress is too big, too long, and too baggy." Kate texted Meghan saying, "Charlotte’s dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on a home." Harry explains in his memoir that the dresses were "French couture" and had been stitched according to specific measurements. He says it  "wasn’t a big shock" that the dress did not fit. At the time, Meghan was busy dealing with the fact that her father Thomas Markle was busted setting up staged paparazzi photos ahead of the wedding. Hence, she took a day to reply to Kate's message.

The Prince writes in his bombshell memoir, "Meg didn’t reply to Kate straight away. Yes, she had endless wedding-related texts, but mostly she was dealing with the chaos surrounding her father. So the next morning she texted Kate that our tailor was standing by." Meghan informed Kate that the tailor was at Kensington Palace and according to him, "This wasn't sufficient." As per Harry, Meghan replied, "Right, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8am. Here. At KP [Kensington Palace]. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?" Harry states Kate's reply which reads, "No, all the dresses need to be remade." Harry writes, "Meg asked if Kate was aware of what was going on right now. With her father. Kate said she was well aware, but the dresses. And the wedding is in four days!" He wrote that Kate had other "problems with the way Meg was planning her wedding. Something about a party for the page boys? It went back and forth."

Meghan replies to Kate's text, "I'm not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn't fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He's been waiting all day," to which Kate replies, "Fine." While the conversation might not seem too much, it was enough for Meghan Markle to break down and for Harry to find his wife "sobbing on the floor." Harry further clarified that Kate did not mean any harm. To make it up, she arrived at the home the following morning with flowers and a card to apologize for any harm that might have caused.

Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge stands with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex at Westminster Abbey for a Commonwealth day service on March 11, 2019 in London, England. Commonwealth Day has a special significance this year, as 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the modern Commonwealth, with old ties and new links enabling cooperation towards social, political and economic development which is both inclusive and sustainable. The Commonwealth represents a global network of 53 countries and almost 2.4 billion people, a third of the worlds population, of whom 60 percent are under 30 years old. Each year the Commonwealth adopts a theme upon which the Service is based. This years theme A Connected Commonwealth speaks of the practical value and global engagement made possible as a result of cooperation between the culturally diverse and widely dispersed family of nations, who work together in friendship and goodwill. The Commonwealths governments, institutions and people connect at many levels, including through parliaments and universities. They work together to protect the natural environment and the ocean which connects many Commonwealth nations, shore to shore. Cooperation on trade encourages inclusive economic empowerment for all people - particularly women, youth and marginalised communities. The Commonwealths friendly sporting rivalry encourages people to participate in sport for development and peace.

However, the story was not over. The media soon got a hold of this information and the headlines wrote that it was Meghan who made Kate cry over the dress-fitting fight. The Palace officials did not make any official statement to clarify the confusion or address the issue. This further fueled Harry's anger toward the royal family. In their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan clarified that it was she who was reduced to tears saying, "I would hope that she would have wanted that corrected, and maybe in the same way that the palace wouldn’t let anybody else negate it, they wouldn’t let her, because she’s a good person."
