Kanye West tops the list of ‘Anti-Semite of the Year’ dishonor: Here's a look at other contenders
An organization that keeps tabs on Jewish hatred has made disgraced rapper and fashion mogul Kanye West a favorite to win the dishonorable title of Anti-Semite of the Year. Mohamed Hadid, the father of supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid, and Jon Minadeo II, the leader of the Goyim Defense League, are the other two contestants for the title of shame.
Kanye, also known as Yeezy or Ye, has so far received the most votes for the disgraced title, according to the organization, StopAntisemitism. When Kanye threatened to commit "Death Con 3" on Jews in a tweet last month, detractors interpreted it as a direct threat to the Jewish community. “As you can imagine, Ye has garnered the most votes from the StopAntisemitism’s list of the top 10 ‘Anti-Semites of the Year’ in 2022, with Mohamed Hadid and Jon Minadeo II following closely behind,” a representative for the group told New York Post. “Ye is using his celebrity platform to promote anti-Semitic tropes about Jews and power and money. It was a lose-lose situation, as it was a self-fulfilling prophecy since he knew he would lose those contracts and business relationships whether they were owned by Jews or not, while also perpetuating a black Hebrew Israelite fringe belief about blacks being the real Jews,” the group said. It also claimed that Adidas, Balenciaga and other companies broke their relations with Kanye as a result of his "two-week-plus anti-Semitic tirade on social media and press interviews" costing the entertainer a significant portion of his income.

Last week, former president Donald Trump came under fire for having dinner at Mar-a-Lago with Kanye West and white nationalist and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes. Kanye was referred to as a "very troubled man" by Trump who took a step back from the intensely scrutinized rapper. The group's website is still accepting votes, and on December 11 the winner for the title of 'Antisemite of the Year' will be revealed. Additionally, the anti-hate organization claimed that Mohamed Hadid has “morphed into a fanatic Jew hater that spreads his false anti-Semitic conspiracy theories to millions of followers on his social media platforms.” Hadid has equated Zionists to terrorists and Adolf Hitler because of how they treat Palestinians. “Hadid recently navigated from Israel-bashing to promoting Nazi-like conspiracy theories of Jewish power when he openly stated, ‘Israel and the Jews control the media,’” the group said.
On the other hand, the Los Angeles banner drop that said, "Kanye is right about the Jews," was orchestrated by Minadeo II, the head of the Goyim Defense League, according to StopAntisiemtism. “Minadeo organizes and directs his followers to drop thousands of anti-Semitic flyers across America blaming everything on Jews, from 9/11 to COVID to the war in Ukraine,” StopAntisemitism stated to New York Post. Three well-known women shared the 2021 Anti-Semite of the Year dishonors last year. Dua Lipa, a British pop singer, Marjorie Taylor Greene, a US congresswoman, and Anuradha Mittal, a Ben & Jerry's executive, were all accused of disparaging the Jewish state of Israel.
