Is Kanye West moving on from Kim Kardashian? Rapper hires top divorce lawyer to finalize settlement
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: More than a year after reality TV star Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from her husband, Kanye West, the rapper seems to be ready to finalize the settlement pertaining to the separation. After Kardashian set the wheels in motion when she filed for divorce in February 2021, West has now hired a top attorney to settle the case.
Court documents accessed by Page Six reveal that West has filed a 'declaration of disclosure.' Such a form is generally filed to tell the court when and how a spouse was served with the other party's financial disclosures. The source also reveals that the 'Yeezus' rapper has sent over all his financial information to the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star.

Reports surrounding the legalities of the former power couple's separation indicate that the two have agreed upon how to split their multi-billion dollar empire. However, the couple, who are parents to four - North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3, have not yet revealed what is to be done regarding their children's custody. Following their estrangement, West spoke to Lindsay Davis of ABC News Special, revealing he had to "fight" in order to be heard in the co-parenting of the kids.
"I'm their dad. It has to be co-parenting. It's not up to only the woman. Men have a choice also. Men's voices matter," he had famously stated. In another interview with Tucker Carlson earlier this month, West, who now goes by the name Ye, said he isn’t willing to "compromise" when it comes to the education of his children. "Right now we’ve come to a compromise — but I’m not finished because I don’t compromise — but we’ve come to a compromise that my kids come to my school after school and they learn choir," he said, having for a long time wanted his children to attend his private school, Donda Academy, named after his late mother.
Things between Kardashian and West took a turn for the worse following his tirades on social media platforms where he would lash out on the Kardashians, and his ex-wife's then-boyfriend, Pete Davidson. As a result, Kardashian had decided to cut off all communication from the rapper, while also maintaining that the children spend 80 per cent of their time with their mother. The outlet also reports that the SKIMS founder refuses to talk about her children's schedules with West without the presence of her assistant. "They have had zero communication in several weeks, and all communication regarding the kids’ schedules are now coordinated through assistants.
Ye's recent decision to finalize the divorce settlement comes close on the heels of recent backlash he faced over several racist and anti-Semetic comments that emerged out of the unaired portions of the interview with Carlson.
