'Kandi & The Gang': Who is Phillip Frempong? Meet OLG's new director of operations
When it comes to running successful restaurants, discipline is key. Everyone has to pull their own weight, and the front and back of the house are expected to work together. Without proper communication and teamwork, the eatery is doomed to fail. Kandi Burress' OLG has certainly seen its glory days, but after losing their general manager, she and Todd knew it was time for a change. Enter Phillip Frempong, a man who is all set to bring back OLG to its former glory. Having worked for Blaze, Kandi's other restaurant before, Phillip knows what it takes to make a restaurant successful. However, will Kandi's staff accept him? Find out on 'Kandi & The Gang'!

Who is Phillip Frempong?
Phillip Frempong is the director of operations at OLG. He worked at the Hillstone Restaurant Group for 11 years as a manager before this. As per LinkedIn, Hillstone Restaurant Group is a "privately-held collection of upscale restaurants with 45+ locations in major cities across the country."
Some of their restaurants are Bandera, Houston's, and R+D Kitchen, located in places such as White House Tavern in Aspen and the Grill at Bal Harbour just outside Miami. He was also a bartender at Houston's in the Greater Atlanta Area. He attended Georgia State University and has a Bachelor's degree in Biology.
As per his Bravo bio -- "An Atlanta native, Phillip has a long history developing restaurants. He was introduced to Kandi and Todd a few years ago and began consulting at Blaze Steak & Seafood, the Burruss-Tuckers' upscale restaurant across town. After his successful tenure there, Phillip moved to OLG guns "Blaze" -ing to get the staff back on track."
Unfortunately, it looks like Phillip is already off to a rough start, seeing that there is plenty of friction between him and OLG's hostess Shawndreca Robinson. Shawndreca was dismissive of him right from the start and Phillip's blunt attitude seems to have rubbed the staff the wrong way. With multiple issues at OLG surfacing, it looks like Phillip has a long and arduous road ahead of him. The question is, will he be up to the task?
