'Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years' Full Cast List: Meet Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke and rest of the voice actors in prequel series
The upcoming Paramount+ movie 'Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years' is a SpongeBob SquarePants prequel that will reveal how the lives of SpongeBob and friends were before they were adults.
The series was originally supposed to be a Nickelodeon production but ViacomCBS later decided that it would help in the launch of the new streaming service Paramount+. It is now set to release on March 4, 2021. The original cast will continue voicing the iconic characters from the original cartoon, but this prequel series seems to be promising based on the sneak peek. Tom Kenny as SpongeBob
According to the actor's IMDb page, besides voicing one of the most iconic animated characters, SpongeBob, he was also into stand-up comedy in Boston and San Francisco. He has appeared on 'The Dennis Miller Show' (1992), 'The Pat Sajak Show' (1989) and 'Late Night with Conan O'Brien' (1993). Many may remember him from FOX's 'The Edge' (1992) and he even hosted NBC's 'Friday Night' (1983).
His other works include, 'Brotherly Love' (1995) where he played the role of Lucien, 'Mr. Show with Bob and David' (1995) and 'The Fairly OddParents' (2001-2015). Kenny has won over a dozen awards including two Daytime Emmy Awards — one in 2018 for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program and another in 2020 for the same category — both were for 'SpongeBob SquarePants' (1999).
Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick Star
Fagerbakke is known for his works on 'The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water' (2015), 'SpongeBob SquarePants' (1999) and 'The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie' (2004). He voices one of TV's most favorite characters, Patrick Star. The actor who is married to Catherine McClenahan attended the University of Idaho and Southern Methodist University and is a member of Delta Tau Delta International Fraternity.
In 2009 he was nominated for a Blimp Award for Best Burp in 'SpongeBob SquarePants' which he shared with Tom Kenny and in 2014 he won a Blimp Award for Favorite Animated Animal Sidekick for the same production. He's also been nominated, along with his fellow cast members, for two Behind the Voice Actors Awards — Best Vocal Ensemble in a Television Series — Children's/Educational for 'SpongeBob SquarePants' in 2013 and Best Vocal Ensemble in a Feature Film in 'The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water' in 2016.
Rodger Bumpass as Squidward Tentacles
Known for the epic voice of Squidward, Bumpass was actually trained in theater. As per the actors IMDb page, he attended Arkansas State University and majored in radio-TV, and minored in theater. He had worked at Jonesboro's Raycom Media-owned ABC-affiliated television station KAIT-TV as an announcer, film processor, cameraman, audio technician and technical director.
He is also known for the voice of The Chief from 'Where on Earth Is Carmen Sandiego?' (1994-1999), Dr Light on 'Teen Titans' (2013-2020) and Professor Membrane on 'Invader Zim' productions. In 2012, the actor was nominated for Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program for 'SpongeBob SquarePants'.
Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy Cheeks
Lawrence is known for her work as Sandy in the SpongBobe franchise, and many other animated characters. She is known for 'The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius' (2002) and 'Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius' (2001) where she voiced the character Cindy Vortex. The actress has been nominated for two Behind the Voice Actors Awards — one in 2013 for Best Vocal Ensemble in a Television Series — Children's/Educational for 'SpongeBob SquarePants' (1999) and one in 2016 for Best Vocal Ensemble in a Feature Film for 'The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water' (2015). She shared both nominations with her co-stars. In 2005, she was also nominated for an Annie Award for Voice Acting in an Animated Television Production for 'The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius'.
The rest of the cast includes Clancy Brown as Mr Krabs, Mary Jo Catlett as Mrs Puff, Jill Talley as Karen Plankton, Lori Alan as Pearl Krabs, Carlos Alazraqui as Nobby, Kate Higgins as Narlene and Mr Lawrence as Sheldon Plankton.
Nickelodeon’s synopsis reads: “'Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years' is the first-ever SpongeBob SquarePants spinoff. The CG-animated prequel series follows 10-year-old SpongeBob SquarePants and his pals during summer sleepaway camp where they spend their time building underwater campfires, catching wild jellyfish and swimming in Lake Yuckymuck at the craziest camp in the kelp forest, Kamp Koral.”
Paramount Pictures’ animated film titled 'The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run' will premiere on ViacomCBS’s streaming service Paramount+ and on PVOD as a $19.99 rental from Paramount Home Entertainment on March 4, 2021, as well - the cast list is the same for the film. IMDb's synopsis of the film reads, "After SpongeBob's beloved pet snail Gary is snail-napped, he and Patrick embark on an epic adventure to The Lost City of Atlantic City to bring Gary home. The remaining seven episodes of the series will arrive later, the date is yet to be revealed.
