The next installment of Spongebob Movie is called 'It's a wonderful Sponge'

The development of the Paramount's feature length movie began in last May and is expected to release on July 22, 2020

Paramount Animation has announced the title and release date of the next SpongeBob movie. The new movie is officially titled as 'The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge' and is set to hit theatres on July 22, 2020. 

This movie is third in the series after The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie in 2004 and its sequel, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, in 2015.

According to Comicbook.com, the movie was scheduled for release in 2019 but had been delayed. 

After months of delay, it is all set to release in 2020. The studio released a first look of the film during their presentation at the CinemaCon.

Spongebob after its first premiere as an animated series on Nickelodeon in 1999 has emerged as a popular and globally recognized animated world.

The animated series was the most watched series for over 14 years in 185 countries; it was translated into more than 50 languages.

Spongebob is a delightful and optimistic sea sponge who lives in an underwater city called Bikini Bottom along with his starfish best friend Patrick, his neighbor and co-worker octopus Squidward Tentacles, and Sandy Cheeks, a squirrel from Texas among others.

The series revolves around their life and adventures. Spongebob is a childhood nostalgia for most of the late 90s kids and the movies made so far have received great support from the audience 

Both The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water were box office successes for the studio, bringing in a combined $465.3 million on a budget of $104 million between the two films.

The SpongeBob Movie: It's A Wonderful Sponge will open in theaters July 22, 2020.
