Sungjin’s military enlistment gets Day6 stars emotional, fans say 'already missed you' during year-long hiatus

In a new Vlive session that he captioned as 'Salute', Sungjin said, '[The rest of the members] will continue to keep the group going through units or individual activities'

Day6 fans were not expecting what they heard when they tuned it for the latest Sungjin live. The JYP Entertainment’s K-pop artiste broke quite a few hearts when he announced that he is enlisting for the military. Day6 fans poured support and heartfelt messages for the vocalist. Not just the fans, Day6 members also took it to social media to wish the 28-year-old all the luck prior to enlisting.

But it is not all gloomy for Day6 as the group has recently talked about releasing a comeback album and Sungjin informed 'My Day’ as Day6 fans are called that he has already finished recording for his parts. Sungjin has been on a hiatus since last year along with Jae citing mental health issues.

In a new Vlive broadcast on March 8. Sungjin appeared with a buzz cut and talked about enlisting in the military. In the Vlive session that he captioned as ‘Salute’, Sungjin said, “[The rest of the members] will continue to keep the group going through units or individual activities. And when the other members are in the military, I’ll have returned, so I and can promote and keep the group firm.” ‘The Day’ crooner assured fans saying, “What’s for sure is that DAY6 will continue on after I return.”

Emotional fans took it to Twitter to share supporting messages for the Day6 member. A fan wrote, “And I was waiting patiently for him to come back again now he's gonna be gone for almost 2 years!!, dude we already missed u :(“ Another said, “You know I’m gonna be the one but okay...I knew he was gonna do something like this. This is so him I just can’t express my feelings like this was so sudden but at the same time so expected you know what I’m tying to say?. Sungjin stay healthy and come back safely!” A fan shared, "And to think he will be discharged on DAY6'S 7th anniversary Sep 7, 2022 And the fact he wasn't even aware of this Some real destiny here Good things for good people!" A heart-touching message read, "What a surprise news to know that you’ll be enlisting today. Thank you for allowing us to be sad & greeted us before you go. I respect your decision for wanting it to be quiet as possible. Serves well & stay healthy. My days will wait for your return!"

Along with fans, Jae of Day6 shared on Twitter “Love you, Sungjin" and Wonpil uploaded on Instagram story, “Return safely! Love you!"
